Teaching Ourselves To Really Live
ANNA QUINDLEN : Life is made of moments, small pieces of silver amidst long stretches of tedium. It would be wonderful if they came to us unsummoned, but particularly in lives as busy as the ones most of us lead now, that won't happen. We have to teach ourselves now to live, really live...to love the journey, not the destination.
I'm heading up to Portland today to participate in Technique Tuesday's BLISS weekend event. Looking forward to seeing old friends and making some new ones and launching my Storyology workshop. It's been a crazy work-week and I must say I might just enjoy a couple nights in a hotel room all to myself.
Look for a new giveaway to post on Saturday morning. Have a great weekend.
Is that an ergo on your back? My 6 month old daughter loves it (although shes too small to be on my back yet!)

Ali, do you ever do any workshops in Florida? I think I'm speaking for all of the East-Coasters when I say..."We need some Ali!!!!" Heck! I'll host it at my house if I have to!! :o)

Ali, will you be teaching your storyology online anytime or writing it up as a book? I have friends going to Bliss and I'm so envious of them...
p.s. I love that quote.

that is so true, the military has sent me all over the world and I enjoy it, live it and try to consume it. Love this quote.

I absolutely love the pack, ergo? I have been looking for some kind of low profile back pack like that. What is it and where did you get it? I can't really go too many places with a hiking pack (REI).

Love the picture - wish I could go to Bliss, but didn't fit in the budget this year. Is that pic from Silver Falls? I've been dying to head up there for a day hike...kind of sad when I live 20 min. away and haven't been there in years! Have a great time at Bliss!

That is a very cool quote. I have always enjoyed the path, sometimes even more than the destination. I think that scrapbooking ahs been one of the best venues for sharing my pathway stories. Putting my perspective to paper. Like making your own road map as you go along. The ultimate geography assignment, lol.

Wonderful quote! I really do live for moments, little moments throughout the day, that make me smile. Thanks to a life altering event almost fourteen years ago, I learned that even the worst day has at least a handful of wonderful smile worthy little moments to hold on to.
Enjoy your quiet time and hopefully, restore, revive, and relax! :>

Bummer that I have to work and can't attend the Bliss Weekend. If I was really strong, I could through a rock across the Columbia from my house to the hotel. (But I don't throw rocks; that would be wrong.) I hope you'll get sunshine at some point. I'll send happy and creative thoughts your way.
