A very special thank you.
Tags:I have been thinking over the past few weeks about what I could do as a thank you to all of you for the awesome support you have shown to Autism Speaks (and to me and my family) over the last few months. No matter whether we end up with the number one spot (the top 6 receive a matching donation up to $10,000), we as a group of people have done something awesome.
Of course, number one is a good place to be. Love watching the power of the people.
Sitting here today, getting ready for classes this weekend in Vancouver, BC at ARTistry, I thought of an idea: I can share a class with you - instructions & supply list. I was going to wait until the end of the contest to post this, but I am just feeling really inspired and excited today and want to share this with you NOW.
This is a fun mini-book: filled with different textures and goodies that help you celebrate the life of someone you love yesterday, today, tomorrow - always. This is an updated version of a class I have taught a few times over the last year. Enjoy it.

Did you watch Larry King Live last night? There was a special with Bill Cosby on Autism. Maybe they have it online? It was kind of interesting...

This is fabulous. I think Kevin Bacon should throw an extra $1,000 to Autism Speaks for exceeding 1,000 donations. Such a great effort by so many great people.

Over 1000 Ali, oh my goodness. I check the numbers throughout the day and get so excited about it. We have three wonderful sons. One has high functioning autism, one Asperger's and our 2-year-old is in Birth to Three for loss of language (but making awesome progress). You are such an inspiration Ali. One person can make a difference!

Ali,
thank you for the inspiration you continually give us as moms and creative beings! Isn't being a mom a part of being creative in God's plan!? As I read Cathy Z's blog a few days ago, something she said resonated with me - "We all have a stake in this". The reality of her words hit at my core. I thank both of you for inspiring me to step out of my box and make a difference - even if it's in a small way, in a small corner of my world!! Blessings on ya~

Darlin' Ali,
Thanks for being your sweet self. Each day when I read your blog, I'm reminded afresh that our experience as human beings is so similar, even if we're divided by miles and oceans. We all know struggle, laughter, and joy, no matter what these things look like on the outside.
Your special light shines so brightly, attracting positive energy because of the warmth you emanate.
Isn't the power of love amazing?
Can't wait to see you in Anaheim!
XOXOX
