Tags:Thanks to everyone who has let me know about this charity for Autism Speaks over the last couple of weeks. Here are the details:
So many cool things happening these days on the internet. Love this opportunity to do good in this crazy medium of connectivity.
Speaking of connectivity, I got to chat with Kevin Bacon on the phone yesterday (that was when Paolo was playing blanket train with Simon). As the founder of SixDegrees.org he was the originator of that spectacular contest that so many of you generously participated in over the last few months.
It was really cool to get the opportunity to thank him personally for taking a chance on such a cool charity set-up. Our conversation was an interview that will be available as a podcast on the Six Degrees site soon (I think next week). We talked about the how I heard about the contest, my personal connection with autism, what the whole thing meant to me, connectivity, the power of people, one + one, etc. It was cool. He is cool.
They chatted with each of the top 6 badges so I am excited to hear from the others about their experience.
And, we did come out on top.
Awesome.

Wow chatting with Kevin Bacon. We are a little behind TV episodes in NZ but he was on Ellen this week talking about Six degrees. Generous man. So pleased you got to talk to him and so pleased that Autism reached so many people in different ways and came out on top at the end of all of this.

I have been so emotional lately. That video was beautiful and I had tears streaming down my face the entire time.

I'm not sure that I would have had the wherewithall to take a picture of my child while talking on the telephone with Kevin Bacon! Nerves would have had a hold on me! Good for you and how wonderful that he called you personally.
One last thing...LOVE the nametags! Can't wait for next week in Detroit.

Congratulations - you truly inspire people and bring out the best in us, one + one. I'm so glad that this topic, near and dear to you heart, now has support from so many others. The video was cool - made me think of families and kids that I work with at school. I agree - I bet Oprah comes knocking at your door, rreeaalll sooooooon!
