Inspiration Boards.
Tags:One of my favorite things to check out on Flickr is the inspiration board group. It is so cool to see what people pick out to hang up and how they change it up from time to time.
I think I am going to start one today that consists of all the holiday images inspiring me right now.
Do you use some sort of inspiration board in your creative space? What's hanging there? Post a link in the comments if you have a photo online.

I just dressed up a board over my scrap table for just that purpose, but it doesn't have a lot on it yet. At the moment: a picture of me and my cousin's son, a breast cancer ribbon, an AIDS awareness ribbon, and some experiments with my new printer and new pens (just quotes and such printed on scrap).

I LOVE that group on flickr! I'm working on my inspiration "board" mine is not a traditional one because it doesn't hang on a wall.
Thanks Ali for the continous inspiration, you're like the "Human Inspo Board".

I have a picture from Time magazine of an old lady watching a stickball game in Harlem. She's holding a purse on her lap and smoking a cigarette and looks like she's seen it all and heard it all and doesn't give a flip if you like her or not.

right in front of my table is a huge window that I look out and get inspiration..I live in town, so no beautiful site, but there is always children playing and people walking thier dogs...it is just peaceful for some reason to watch the world go by. I do have pictures of my son and his daughter up, my dog, pics of me and future hubby....so all that helps as well. I have a board on flicker, just started it: http://www.flickr.com/photos/14377473@N05/
just has goofy things, my new niece, granddaughter, etc....doubt it inspires anyone though! LOL!
thanks,
karen

Here's a link to my room. The first photo shows my inspiration board, a pair of old shutters. On them, I have diplayed tags from some of my online friends(Hi Scrapchatters)as well as misc cards and crafts from my kids and friends. http://twopeasinabucket.kaboose.com/pg.asp?cmd=display&layout_id=1067210

Funny you should bring this up today...
I just got my copy of Life Artist in the mail today and immediately hung the poster on our giant chalkboard - it hangs in the kitchen. The chalk board is for all of us so it has lots of stuff on it - Cars movie calendar and days of the week are always there plus seasonal things and various kids art projects. I also try to write a good quote out every now and then and new words that the kids are learning.
I also have a bulletin board in my studio (I made it out of wine corks) and it has fun photos, art, paint chips, a star fish and some sentimental goodies.
Thanks Ali - can't wait to dive into your book tonight!!!

this is a great idea!
I just have to resist the temptation to hang a ton of junk on there!

oh that group is so cool! I could spend hours on Flickr. I'm going to need to spend more time looking at this when the kids go to sleep tonight! Thanks for the great inspiration as always!

I love inspiration boards, they are great in terms of inspiring creativity and they are a window into the mind of the artist. I have a picture of mine on my blog, The Altered Page, in a post dated 8/21/07. Click on my name to take a look!

I used to have one a few years ago before I started scrapping, made up of little reminders & things that inspire me in my daily life. Now I think I'll start another one. What A great idea for inspiring & planning my scrapbooking. But I'll have to buy a new one becuase I've just scrapped my notice board! You can check it out at http://haylestar.blogspot.com/

I don't have an inspiration board YET, but after reading my copy of Life Artist and seeing your inspiration board here on your blog today, I'm really warming to the idea ... think I may pick up a notice board this week!
I have to add what an amazing book Life Artist is. I have read it cover to cover and am so inspired by both your work and your words. You make so much sense and give a great perspective on everyday art ... it will be something I refer back to time and time again. So thank you for that. :)

I have a message board in my laundry room that reads…
“The key to parenting an autistic child is not to give in to the notion that your goal is to make your child normal. Normal, after all, is nothing more than another word for average. Your goal is to learn to understand and form a relationship with your child - the child you have, not the child you thought you would have.”

I use my entertainment center for inspiration. It's a little shorter than I am, and I spread scrapping stuff on it so I can look at it as I go through the day. It works!
An I put my lifeartist poster up in my classroom. I teach 11th grade English.
