Three Things : Creative Books (+ a giveaway)

it's so hard to say just one of my favorite techniques... but currently i am a fiend for making mini tags and things with clay and painting them and using them in my art journal and paintings... very mixed media! thanks for offering another great giveaway!!!

Scrapbooking. As you so aptly put it - "words + pictures" (and some patterned paper, and buttons, and ribbons, and stamps, and embies . . )

This book sounds fantastic. I have started dabbling in mixed media. Currently I have a few leftover floor tiles I have covered in gesso & are waiting to be played with. I am working with some of my tinies old jeans & tshirts using them to make bags for shopping & just stuff. I have painted on some & done some appliques. I want to use the legs of the jeans to make some wall art & mini-albums.
My new philosophy are the 3R's- reduce, reuse, recycle.

I'm looking for ways to incorporate my little ones into anything creative that I do. Scrapbooking, painting, even just coloring... it's so much more fun when they can help.

Lately I've been loving using my sewing machine again! it's a nice way to add some texture and definition!

Thanks for the opportunity to win this great book. My fav creative technique theese days are scrapbooking. I just rediscovered paints, and are having so much fun exploring the possibillities with different paints and techniques.

Super, super busy right now with homeschooling a large family, but so, so important for me to document the things that are important to us. Thank you so much for the inspiration and encouragement that your are to me!

I'm having a tremendously hard time getting down to scrapbooking right now. So I'm working on a twist of the "art journal". I have a bunch of punches, fancy pens and markers, etc. and I write in the journal to my girls so that I have the journalling done when I can return to scrapbook. It helps me remember what they are doing, saying. I don't want to forget a thing.

Oh I must have Taking Fight...I am on the cusp of 50 and trying to revive my art which was put aside to raise my son as well as 4 at home step children. All have grown and flown the nest and I find myself alone as after raising some difficult step children there father ( my husband) decided a divorce would be best! Hows that for a kick in the pants? A any rate... My recent endeavors have been renewing my painting techniques as well as 3-D mixed medium collage art. My perspective needs refreshed after all these years and I am trying to revive my creative sould after having had my heart stomped on....

I like to vary different techniques and media with my creative endeavours. But, my current absolute favourite: sewing. And to think, I've convinced myself all these years that I can't sew!

Hybrid scapbooking is it! In the past several months I've resized 12X12 layouts to 6X6 and framed in Ikea Shadow boxes to make hangable art; made an accordian book of the dogs using digi-scrapped photos ~ our Bailey got wings (LOL) and love making digital tags printed to lightly shaded Bazzill card stock and distressed. Doing this has improved my photography and I sitll get to whip out the paint, sew, stamp, embellish and now I'm using a little bees wax. It has revived my creative spirit.

My creative outlet is scrapbooking. Scrapbooking our family stories, helping my almost 6 year old scrapbook her memories, making altered gifts for my relatives. Thanks, as always, for you inspiration.

I love to create with photos and words. I love to record the current phrases and nuances since we think we'll remember those details, but if we don't record them, they may become lost.

My current favorite technique involves non-purchased items. For example, using the take-out menu on the layout featuring our traditional "take-out and talk" dinner, on the first day of a new school year. Or a coaster from our favorite Nashville eatery, when visiting our daughters at Vanderbilt. Or a portion of a road map.

Favorite creative technique- well, for scrapbooking ideas, I just love looking at Somerset magazines for ideas and inspiration. AND Etsy. Nothing like the online world.
