I'm looking forward to having my small family all staying at my house. I'm not a huge decorator but I'm going to try harder this year. We are also making presents for people this year, so I'm thrilled about that.
The last thing I'm excited about is buying a real tree! We have always artificial trees but my husband and I agreed it was time (after 15 years) that we have a real one!!

My yearly cookie exchange with the girls - 12 years strong. Everyone goes home with 3 dozen cookies - a big enough group for a nice variety, but small enough so that making the cookies doesn't become overwhelming. Coupled with a delicious meal (we take turns hosting each year) and the mandatory champagne, it's a festive, relaxing get together.

My finace and I are getting ready to blend our families.....We have the brady bunch and have only had our children togther for "party" type events. So starting with Christmas eve we are going to have just the brady bunch together. We figured what a happy time of year to start our family together. Happy Holidays! Hailey

Christmas to me is a season of celebrating, spending time with family, homemade cookies, the scent of pine in the air, fresh crisp outside air, the color red, snow, peace to all, memories, traditions, the advent calendar, our countdown calendar box filled with a treat daily and a quote or note for the day to my 3 children telling them how blessed I am to have them and reminders of what is to come such as cutting down our Christmas tree, baking or getting together with friends and family and how they can give to others during this time of year. I am most looking forward to making things for the holidays. I have let some of my usual holiday obligations go so that I can focus more on having fun and enjoying the process and spending time with my family.

This giveaway is so awesome. I wasn't planning on doing this Christmas book but the more I thought about it the more excited I became. Started pulling things out last night to compose. I am really looking forward to sharing snow days with my kids. I love it when we get an unexpected day off of school. We play in the snow, sip hot cocoa, and do holiday crafts.

I am looking forward to spending time with family and friends.
Last year my mother, 75 years old, was really sick in the hospital up to and including Christmas day. We spent Christmas day at the hospital thinking she was going to die, but she pulled through and is back home after spending 3 more months being in a nursing home.
My 13 year old daughter had a really bad Christmas last year with that going on and I am so looking forward to making it up to her this year. I can't wait to start the album, it's going to be fun to put together with her help!

I don't know if I can pick one thing! I love everything about the Christmas season, but what I love most is Christmas Day. We made the decision when our kids were babies that we would spend the entire day at home. We do our traveling before or after the 25th,so we have one day were the 4 of us can just be together. Christmas tree lit, music in the background, games...I love that day.

When we relocated last year (late Nov) we spent the holidays by ourselves in an unfurnished house (good thing the dining set arrived just before Christmas eve, otherwise we'll be eating at the breakfast bar, standing!). It was the loneliest Christmas for this family, but the good thing is we have each other, we have a roof over our heads and we have food on the table, certainly something to be thankful for. This Christmas we're looking forward to spend it with relatives in New Jersey, everyone is excited, specially the thought of playing in the snow. It'll be a first for us! :-)
