Three Things : Three Giveaways
A fun Tuesday giveaway:
1. Five gift certificates to Songbird Avenue. Here's what's cool about these guys: they are a digital scrapbooking-based online boutique
whose proceeds are donated to various charities each month in an effort
to give compassionately to those in need. Definitely a site to check out and support.
2. One November kit from Stampin With Steph (a Stampin Up independent demonstrator).
3. One November kit (designed by Stacy Julian) for Cocoa Daisy (you will receive this in early November).
To be entered into the drawing leave a comment below and let me know how you celebrate the fall season. Comments will be closed today (Tuesday) at 8pm Pacific and the winners announced shortly after.

Ooh, I love all three of those companies! Fall is my favorite time of year, and I've spent a fair bit of time this year bemoaning the fact that it's so hot in FL, but I had a weekend with a glorious gift-sunset, cool morning temps, and a bald eagle sighting that set my heart soaring! That is certainly the best celebratory moment of fall I've ever had.

Fall! While some bloggers commented about the arrival of autumn several weeks ago, I couldn't relate to their sensory awakening until this past Saturday. That's when fall arrived in the South. In my state. In my backyard. And what that means is a season of fun and celebration, sprinkled throughout October and November as my family enjoys the fall season. For my husband, it's football Saturdays, whether he is one of 80,000 or so in the stands of a college football stadium or at home in front of his television enjoying the game with friends and family. For my daughter, fall means Halloween and a chance to be someone she's not. From the time she was a tiny toddler, my daughter has LOVED Halloween. And while she's been a cute, ballet-loving child, she has always preferred dressing up as... dead people. A dead cowgirl, a dead rock star. And while some children mark the days off the calendar leading up to Christmas, my child marks them off leading up to Halloween. For me, fall means crisp, cool air and blue skies. It means the early darkening of the sky that tells my soul its time to get cozy with my family. Early evenings around the fireplace with a cup of warm cocoa in my hands. It means a time of thanksgiving as we enjoy special times with family and friends.

Pumpkins, pumpkins, pumpkins. Carving, painting, eating. Anything pumpkin flavored makes me happy this time of year. Oh, and hot cocoa with whipped cream!
Happy Fall!

I celebrate fall by making stew in the crockpot -- and if I'm really ambitious -- biscuits to go with the stew!

We love fall! We spend lots of time outside playing. We always go to a pumpkin field to pick a pumpkin (something I never did growing up). I do alot of baking--apple everything and cookies.

I'm not sure who loves the pumpkin patch more...my 6 year old daughter or me. Needless to say, we try to go to the pumpkin patch as many times as we can before they all pack up and leave!! She knows if she wants to ride the pony and play, mommy has to get some awesome pictures first! I love taking pictures of her there! :)

Making it in under the wire! I'm not so sure this is a celebration OF Fall but it's a celebration we have every Fall. It's the National Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Light the Night walk. My husband is a leukemia survivor; five years out. We walk this every Fall with our kids and celebrate life WITH Dad!

Well, we moved to Florida last year. Autumn is subjective here, to say the least.
I have decorated my porch with pumpkins, quilts, collected wood crates, gourds and more.
There's little leaves around here, but I still enjoy my caramel apples and fall carnival!

A trip to Apple Hill, extra blankets on the bed, driving down roads with leaves falling down and pumpkin scones from Starbucks (yum!).

Fall is absolutely the best time of the year. I love the cooler weather and the thoughts of things to come. Our traditions include: making batches of pumpkin whoopie pies - hubby loves them; trips to the pumpkin patch and pumpkin carving a whole lot of jack-o-lanterns to line our walkway; roasting the seeds from all the pumpkins and eating them warm out of the oven, and especially looking forward to all the special times with family and friends.

I like to celebrate fall by making crafts with my kids - decorations for Halloween and Thanksgiving. Also, I like to spend more time trying new recipes and making home-cooked meals.

We celebrate by making pumpkin cakes & bringing out our terra cotta jack-o-lantern. We bring out the candle lights for the windows, and make it as cozy as we can!

Fall means Halloween for us and Halloween is a BIG deal at our house, especially as our boys got older. Now that they are grown, it still is a special time...I begin at the first sign of the season, gathering up the newest and neatest treats as soon as they hit the store shelves...a real hit was the first year that I found individual pkgs. of microwave popcorn...even the BIG kid Trick or Treaters were impressed. I usually dress in costume to pass out the treats and our house gets decorated both inside and out...eerie lighting and sometimes even the music to accompany the season...Ghostbusters, Monster Mash, etc. What silly fun but FUN!

We head to the pumpkin patch. Have caramel apples, kettle korn and check out the haunted houses! No matter how old the kids get, they still enjoy it!
