Family Gratitude Spinner Project through Big Picture Scrapbooking
Tags:I am very excited to announce a new partnership with Big Picture Scrapbooking to bring you a Projects Plus instant download class : Family Gratitude Photo Spinner.
Are you looking for a creative way to celebrate your family photos? So often they end up tucked away inside beautiful albums or in boxes under the bed, cared for but not celebrated often enough. The Family Gratitude Photo Spinner is a project that brings your photos out into the open, encouraging you to live with some of your most favorite photos of the people you love. This project would make a great holiday centerpiece or a lovely decoration within your home for anytime of the year. It would also make an amazing gift for someone special.
NOTE: This project is not necessarily Thanksgiving-specific but would definitely work well as a centerpiece for this time of year. It is more focused on expressing gratitude for family and friends and life. Paper and colors can easily be substituted to fit your individual tastes (and what you have on hand).
The class will be available as an instant download beginning next Thursday, November 13th at 10am Pacific. As soon as you register you have immediate access to the class materials.
Cost for the class is $12 and includes: color handouts with step by step instructions, downloadable PDF templates (for transparencies and titles), full supply list with links to products, an audio message from me, a private gallery for sharing your projects with others in the class, and access to a message board for sharing thoughts and ideas as you work through the project.
In addition, Big Picture Scrapbooking and kit club Cocoa Daisy have teamed up to offer a kit for this class with a bunch of the products you will need for this project if you are wanting to use the same supplies (check the supply list for specific details - not all products are included). The Cocoa Daisy kit does include the main 7gypsies supplies such as the Photo Carousel (also available here), tabbed pages, pocket pages, patterned transparencies, and page protectors (also available here). You can see and purchase the kit of supplies here.
Big Picture Scrapbooking is an online scrapbook education and inspiration website. Classes are offered in a variety of formats, including downloadable projects like this one that can be done at anytime. If you are not familiar with Big Picture Scrapbooking you can read more about their mission here, how it works, and frequently asked questions.
I hope that some of you will be able to join me on this creative adventure. I loved the process of putting this project together: from the patterned papers to the paint to the embossing to working with little elements to going back through many of my favorite photos of my immediate family. I love how the finished project really celebrates my current family of three and has space available for the little one that will be joining us soon.
It's a great reminder of what is really most important in life.

Wonderful! I hope this is the first of many classes you teach at BPS. I'm taking Cathy's class and just finished Stacey's. I've loved the experience. I will definately take this class and would jump at the oppertunity to take a longer online workshop with you. I'll keep my fingers crossed that you might like to do something like that in the future.

I am curious about these online classes. Have never done one and not sure how they work. I have a very busy schedule with a full time job and 4 kids with not a lot of time to do my scrapbooking. Is this something I can do at my own pace as I have "scraps" of time?

When I first saw this, I thought, "I just don't have another project in me this month!" But I love your idea of using this as a centerpiece! We just found out we are having some of my extended family to stay over the Thanksgiving weekend, so I think I will include photos of that family, and my family growing up. Thanks for the inspiration!

Tammy - I think the wicker circle mat was from World Market (but I am not positive).

I too have had the 4x6 spinner for awhile and have done nothing with it....this will be the perfect excuse to lock myself in my office and get it done!
Thanks Ali :)

Ali,
I got my email from Tricia this morning and immediately purchased the kit. To be honest, I have been contemplating making one of these spinners for a while and having the class and the kit made up was just the little push I needed!
Thanks for the inspiration!

I think this is a wonderful idea and a great collaboration for you, BPS, and Cocoa Daisy for this time of year (and actually for any time of the year). We all have so much to be grateful for. Having said that, with the economy the way it is and being retired, the only thing going down for us is our retirement fund. With electricity, insurance, and food going up (thank goodness gas has dropped some), the $100 for the supplies just isn't in my budget. I did the Story of Today with supplies I had on hand but this looks somewhat more complicated. Good luck everyone - I look forward to seeing your projects.

I love this project!! So adorable and a great idea. Yesterday I was thinking about hanging some of my new LO's so my family could enjoy them more often. This idea sort of goes along with that; I could show our favorite photos and/or even family that live far away, our closest friends, etc.
I definitely want to make one of these and I love taking classes at BPS. Thanks for making this cute project.

I love the look of this project but am on a strict budget so can't really afford the kit (plus it might take it's time to get to Canada). Wondering if you have any ideas on what I could use instead of the spinner (very few scrapbook supplies where I am, plus, again, not much money at the moment). Any hardware items or something that might sub??
