The biggest realization I've come to is to simplify. You really don't need a lot of embellishments on the page. Pictures and text should speak for themselves. I do enjoy nice paper, so I try to skimp on other areas!

My frugal tip is to keep the wrapping paper and tissue paper from parties and holidays! Oh the things those two little items can do!!!!

I use old cards my Dad saved, I use old fabric scraps my gram gave me, and I save all of my scraps of paper for later use. :) Love the giveaway!!!

My tip is for finding free digital kits online. I am new to digital scrapping and until I get the hang of it I will be using free kits. There is also an awesome dollar store in our area that gets leftover scrap items from the bigger stores like Target and Walmart, they are all a dollar and are big names like K and Co.

My frugal tip is just to save cool things that you find in everyday life. The inside of cardboard coffee snuggies are great to add texture. Interesting paper that comes with a card or gift. The best thing is free--inspiration.

I've been working on Project 365 this year - so my tip: Don't wait to long to print your pictures and journal everyday. I've learned that I should do this for everyday scrapbooking, because I forget all of the precious memories.

I love scraping in 8x8, but I still buy 12x12 paper. When I cut these pages down to size, I keep the scraps. The make fantastic minibooks! (I wouldn't be able to go to Atlanta even though I would LOVE to).

My two tips are to organize your space so you know what you have...and then are ready to use what you have for your pages. When I ran out of flowers I used some artificial ones from Michaels. They looked exactly like the ones made for scrapbbooking, I just took them out of an arrangement.
Additionally, my other tip is that I find I have a hard time telling my story on the spot. Write your stories as they come to you. Mine typically come at odd times, right before I nod off to sleep or a great headline will come when I am in a meeting at work. I write them on their own page and then put them in my scrapbook pile on my desk at home when I get home.

I have been using lots of shipping tags from the office supply store, inexpensive and adds a nice touch to pages, cards, etc.

save your paper scraps of a certain size and then use them to make cards.
the scrap, etc event is always a great event. i've been to all of them and always love the projects and everything they do.

The only thing I can think of, and admittedly not that great a tip, is to use the chipboard/cardboard that comes with so many products in scrapbooking, even with photos mailed from the developer. Many scrapbook stores will let customers use their cutting machines, and that chipboard can become all kinds of different accents from letters to embellishments to pages of a mini book.
I should actually do this more often!

Hmmm. A frugal scrapbooking tip? I guess I just try to use up as much of my paper as possible and I try to only buy paper when I think I need it for a particular page. It save me a lot of money not just buying random paper.

I use wrapping paper, old newspapers and cut up second hand dictionaries when I want to add a bit of color or embellishment. I never buy supplies on my credit card and I am a fan of saving my spare change to save up for the supplies I need. Thanks for the chance to win Ali!

Hi Ali. I ask my co-workers at work to save me their chipboard/cardboard that come in shipping supplies. I re-use these in my scrapbook projects. I would love to go to the Scrap Etc. event. I wanted to go so badly but couldn't afford airfare and the event. If I get picked, I would be dancing a dance. Thank you.

You can often find scrapbook items at yard sales for a fraction of the cost. You have to hunt a bit, but it's worth it.

Mine would be making my own mini album by cutting out 4" x4" squares from cardboard instead of buying chipboard albums! I line them with patterned paper, embellish and put a ring through after punching holes to achieve the same album effect, albeit a thinner one!

For my frugal tip I have been using more of the packaging. A lot of times they coordinate already w /the supplies and give you that much more to use as accents. PS I would love a chance to attend the scrap etc event.

My frugal tip is to only print the pictures that you plan to scrap. I make sure all the others are backed up (twice! - I have two different external hard drives), but I only print the ones I'll scrap.

I live in Brazil and I only can assist for the online gifts.
My frugal tip: You can buy plain brads in your local office store by asking for brass fasteners. Not as many options for sizes, but much cheaper.
