My tip is to keep a sketch pad or notebook with you at all times. You never know when inspiration can strike - this goes for not just layouts and visual ideas. It also applies to writing/journaling something that occurs to you.

When I crop photos, I save the scraps to use on other layouts as pieces of landscape or of the furnishings in the room or I fussy-cut the people remaining in the photo scrap and use a pop-dot to add them into other layouts.

If I'm covering up a lot of my patterned paper with a large photo I often will cut out a piece of the paper that's hidden by the photo.

Hey Ali! I love the Vintage paper kits... so cute all of them, any way...
My tip: I like to mix and match new materials with recycled stuff from my regular life, it could be napkins from a starbucks or a paper bag from Mc Donalds, ALL related factors or little items it could be the final touch of a great story, dont you think?
cheers!

Hi Ali,
This is such a generous giveaway that I cannot pass. For the tip, I'm sure most of us cut their 3d foams for extended life but I do find it easier, non-stick to my nice scissor to cut them while they are still on the glossy paper. Also, I use my papers to paper piece any design I like to save from getting just one of a package of stickers or embellishments. Again, thanks for the generosity...

My frugal scrapbooking tip just involves using what I already have. I made myself a promise at the beginning of the year that I would not buy anything new unless I was going to use it today or in the next few days. That really has helped me to use what I already have. I do live in 5 hrs driving distance from Atlanta and would love to attend these classes!

Go through all your scraps first. You might not need to buy something to match your project... you might already have the supplies you need. Also, I've been saving all of my index prints that come with my orders from Costco. They come in handy for review pages.

Recently I used left over paper cupcake cups on my layout. I cut them in half and used them as a funky border. They were pink already so they really stood out in my layout!

I always use the white sheets inside the page protectors as scrap for stamping images. I also keep two trays right on my table with leftover scraps of solid cardstock and patterned paper for reuse. I pick up organizational supplies at thrift stores such as tables, stools, trays, files, racks.
I am available to attend Scrap Etc in Atlanta, please please please!!

I like to use my xyron for different things but I don't need all that adhesive covering the back of a big piece of paper so I will feed smaller items under it like ribbon or punched items so I get more things covered with adhesive that just one big piece of paper.

Scrapbook stuff can be pretty expensive at times so I try my best to stretch the use of every item like for papers, I keep left over scraps to use for cards and other projects. I also look around the house for stuff that aren't necessarily meant for scrapbooking but can actually be used for my projects (masking tape, bubble wrap, other stuff that you can use as a stamp). By the way, I don't think I'll ever make it to the Scrap ETC if i win, since I'm in the Philippines. Thanks for the chance at winning.

my frugal tip ... i make card with what i have left from a scrap page. Because you already have out the matching colours and bits - it is easy to quickly make up something - and uses up all my scraps !!

my tip is to not buy new items but use up your stash. Also recycle your stash by painting it for example for a new fresh look or add it to altered items.
