Saying Goodbye To Studio A
Tags:
The December issue of Creating Keepsakes is the last issue for my monthly Studio A column.
Studio A debuted back in January 2006 (the first theme was scrapbooking your intentions). Each month since then I have been given the opportunity to create pages & projects that were interesting & inspiring to me at the time. Over the years CK gave me a ton of freedom to decide my own content/topics and allowed me to find & maintain my own voice in the pages of the magazine. For that gift I am extremely grateful.
I am also especially thankful to my column editor Lori Fairbanks who was always able to take what I had written and make it flow and fit the space available.
The decision to end the column was mutual; the editors and I both felt like it was time for a number of reasons. I am very thankful to CK for the opportunity and the experience. I am currently working with the magazine to gain access to the Studio A PDF's to add to the initial archive located here. I will let you know when those files are updated.
Will you still see my pages & projects in Creating Keepsakes? At this time, no (you may potentially see some feature articles from me in the future but nothing is currently scheduled).
Right now I am making plans for what's next for me. I will continue blogging. I will continue designing products for Designer Digitals and Technique Tuesday. I hope to do more online education. I will continue telling my stories and making stuff. I am looking forward to moving forward.
I am also very thankful for all of you who have read my column over the last few years and have shared your own stories with me. I love what I do and am so grateful that I get to share my passion for telling stories creatively with photos & words.

I see I am not alone when I say the only reason I bought CK magazine was for your section.

And now there is no reason to read the magazine anymore. First Jessica, then Candice and now you. I think the same 3 people write all of the articles now. Looking forward to seeing what you do next.

I add my voice in saying you'll be very missed at CK. The substance in the magazine has been what you and Becky Higgins have provided, and I hope the magazine can survive without you two! Having said that, I'm thinking if this gives you more time to teach on-line classes then this is a great move on your part for us. I cannot tell you what an amazing class Yesterday/Today is! On so many levels it is an incredible journey.
On with the adventure!

I just subscribed weeks ago and have yet to get my first issue. I have been buying Ck for the last few years in the market, and I always flip to your section before I buy. Finally I just said, "Duh, let me just subscribe!" Guess that was a goof... Luckily, I just now called and will not even be billed. Thank Goodness, as I will no longer be a reader without your section. Good Luck to you on your future journey, and HOORAY for your Blog! Hugs, mandy

WOW. I am sad to hear that your column will no longer be in CK. While I love most of the rest of the magazine, Studio A was the first article I would flip to in every issue. I am excited for you and the possibilities that lie ahead! I will definitely be following you on your blog and am looking forward for what you do next!

With you and Becky both gone from CK they will have a hard time keeping an audience! Thank you for continuing to share with us in your blog. Your creativity, calm spirit, and ability to write what is in your heart have been a blessing to me through the years.
Have a blessed Thanksgiving and a wondrous Christmas with your precious family.

Studio A was always the first article I looked forward to reading in CK. The last few issues I have been delighted to see not only Studio A but additional articles by you as well and was hoping to see more of that.
That being said, I totally understand the need for change in life and hope to follow you in whatever form you choose next.

As a daily follower of your blog, I can learn to accept this fact. But, ONLY because I have daily access to all of your talent and inspiration at my fingertips! I know that you would not have made this decision lightly, and I am positive that you will have many more wonderful things coming your way soon!

I am so sad to see you go! Your article was always the first one I flipped to every month, followed by Becky's. I (along with many others) am going to miss Studio A and I am curious to see where CK goes from here. They have some big shoes to fill...not sure it is possible. I will continue to read your blog and I wish you the best with whatever is next for you! I can truly say that you have changed the way I scrapbook and have inspired me so much...thanks Ali!
