Saying Goodbye To Studio A
Tags:
The December issue of Creating Keepsakes is the last issue for my monthly Studio A column.
Studio A debuted back in January 2006 (the first theme was scrapbooking your intentions). Each month since then I have been given the opportunity to create pages & projects that were interesting & inspiring to me at the time. Over the years CK gave me a ton of freedom to decide my own content/topics and allowed me to find & maintain my own voice in the pages of the magazine. For that gift I am extremely grateful.
I am also especially thankful to my column editor Lori Fairbanks who was always able to take what I had written and make it flow and fit the space available.
The decision to end the column was mutual; the editors and I both felt like it was time for a number of reasons. I am very thankful to CK for the opportunity and the experience. I am currently working with the magazine to gain access to the Studio A PDF's to add to the initial archive located here. I will let you know when those files are updated.
Will you still see my pages & projects in Creating Keepsakes? At this time, no (you may potentially see some feature articles from me in the future but nothing is currently scheduled).
Right now I am making plans for what's next for me. I will continue blogging. I will continue designing products for Designer Digitals and Technique Tuesday. I hope to do more online education. I will continue telling my stories and making stuff. I am looking forward to moving forward.
I am also very thankful for all of you who have read my column over the last few years and have shared your own stories with me. I love what I do and am so grateful that I get to share my passion for telling stories creatively with photos & words.

I'm so sad to read this. I looked very forward to CK monthly just for your pages. I'd jump right to Studio A first thing. It just won't be the same without your magical work inside the pages.
I wish you much success in whatever the future holds for you outside of CK. I know whatever it will be will be something amazing.
Happy Thanksgiving Ali~

Your article and Becky Higgins' article were the only reasons I was still subscribing to CK (I've been a subscriber for many years but have been increasingly unhappy with the overall content); now that you're both leaving I guess I won't be renewing! I really enjoy your work and reading your blog and wish you luck in your future endeavors.

I agree Ali. The BEST part of CK was you and Becky, I am so sad. I LOVED Studio A. But I think you are bigger than them anyway, you are a star in your own right!!!!!!
Have a great Thanksgiving and keep blogging and teaching online courses!!!

I'm with everyone above...so excited to find out what's next for you, Ali, but CK has little appeal to me without your influence. I'll likely let my subscription expire when the time comes.
Love your blog....let us know how to support you through this change and new chapter!

I recently let my subscription to CK lapse. Other than your columns, there wasn't much that interested me anymore. I'm more of a "simple" scrapbooker, who enjoys photos and journaling, and there wasn't much left in the magazine to inspire me. I love your blog, and will continue reading it, and buying your stamps from Technique Tuesday. I wish you much luck in the future!

I'm so sorry to see you leave. My favorite parts of the magazine are now no longer there since you and Becky have both left. I also loved reading Lisa's editorial article. Not sure if I will keep my subscription or cancel - no matter what, I will keep following your blog. You have truly inspired me over the years - thank you so much.

Did someone "mean" start working there at CK? Geez! Everyone is leaving including Lisa!!! Just won't be the same without all you "Big Name Scrapbook Girls"!!! :(

I'm so bummed out! That's the only reason I read CK anymore LOL! Oh well, at least I still have all my back issues and can look back for ideas :)
I'm sure its the right decision for your family at this time and I wish you the best of luck moving forward, but for now, I'll be over here throwing myself a little pitty party! LOL!
I'll keep reading your blog and I look forward to more digital designs from you!
