You have great sponsors, Ali. My favorite December tradition is hiding a pickle ornament on the tree on Christmas Eve. We always give a stack of Christmas books to the child that finds the ornament.

My favorite tradition is decorating the Christmas tree. Each of our ornaments has sentimental meaning for me -- they invoke memories, stories and times shared with loved ones in the past. I am so thankful to have some antique ornaments from my Mom's side of the family, and I always think of the many trees those balls have hung on over the years. Decorating the tree makes me feel closer to loved ones who have passed away and feel closer to the memories of my childhood.

We do an advent box with daily activities. The kids adore it--especially my 6 year old. Her favorite activity each year is eating dinner in our pajamas by candlelight! Building family memories :-)

We are still "creating" a tradition, but I'd like to think that decorating the tree will be my new favorite.

One of our favorite family traditions is making Chex Mix (or Christmas mix as my nephew calls it!). My daughter is always in charge of breaking the pretzel sticks in half . . . which when she was little took FOREVER! Then we mix it all up, pour on the BUTTER and let it bake for hours. The house smells awesome and we all wait around for our first taste!
More great giveaways . . . thanks Ali & sponsors!

Love the giveaways! Our favorite tradition is opening the kids' holiday PJs on Christmas Eve and then snuggling down to watch "The Polar Express" in bed. Generally the kids fall asleep halfway through and we finish the movie to the sounds of their sleeping sighs. It's wonderful.

My favorite December tradition is driving through the festival of holiday lights in our town...8-10 of us pile in one SUV and ooh, aah, and sing christmas songs for the hour long light trip!

My favorite Christmas tradition is having my 80 year old Gram stay Christmas Eve with us and having everyone open their traditional pair of pajamas. We wear our new jammies while we read the story of Christ's birth while sitting around the tree.

Tapioca pudding! Every year my family has tapioca pudding with a peeled almond hidden in the bowl. Everyone dishes up their pudding and eats away, hoping to find the almond. The lucky person with their almond in their bowl gets a Christmas gift - a holiday book, an obnoxious singing elf, a Christmas movie, etc. The rules have changed from year to year as my siblings have gotten older but it's my favorite thing to do at Christmas.

Going to my "home" Lutheran church in Oregon! I still consider it my home church even though I haven't lived in Oregon in years... Not only did I grew up going there and was baptized, confirmed, and married there, but my dad was baptized, confirmed, and married there, as was my grandma... and my great-great-great grandparents helped found the church. :)

Wow--great stuff on the giveaway list;)
My favorite tradition started way back when I was a kid--my parents started a journal of yearly happenings (weddings/deaths/events/etc.). They would write down what happened each month during the year (put it on a post-it note if necessary until they had time to write it all down). Around August/Sept. Hallmark starts selling yearly ornaments. We would get one and then when we put up our Christmas tree....we would wait until a Saturday when all grandparents could come to our house for dinner and our yearly ornament hanging. When we hang a certain year (and we would go in chronological order), we would read what happened that year and hang that ornament up. This is a great way to remember all the things that have happened throughout the years. It is also a great way to scrapbook quickly! My husband and I do this tradition (that is if we can get the tree up! If not...we just read from the journal). Love this tradition:)
