My favorite Christmas tradition is decorating the tree. Love taking out all the ornaments and remembering where I got them all and the sharing the stories behind them.

Like some of the others, my favorite tradition, one that my family has done since I can remember, is driving around to look at the Christmas lights. I am excited to carry on this tradition with my own little ones. I hope it is as magical for then as it was and is for me :)

One of my favorites growing up was the stockings that my grandmother made every year, she would save every box from her oatmeal, she always bought the cylinders of quaker oats, and would make stockings for the whole family. Every year she made a different design, I remember her making houses, drums, a train where my grandfather's was the engine & the youngest(who was me at the time) was the caboose, wooden soldiers, and one year she even made Santas! She moved last year, almost 500 miles away, so this is the second year we will be missing those stockings.

On Christmas Eve, my husband and I join my parents for a movie and then dinner. We're looking forward to starting new traditions with our baby girl who is due this week!

Christmas morning wouldn't be the same without chocolate pancakes (regular pancakes with dark chocolate syrup and whipped cream). My mom made them when we were kids, and now my siblings and I carry on the tradition. We only ever had these on Christmas morning, but I push the envelope and make them for my daughter's birthday breakfast too. :o)

i have too many to pick a favorite! but i'm on our way to church's breakfast with santa. i get to take the pictures of the kids with santa. and i LOVE to hear them talk to him and tell them what they want. it is so sweet.

My favorite Christmas tradition is going to see the Nutcracker ballet with my beloved grandmother.

What great giveaways. Our favorite tradition is having my MIL and grandMIL over to help us decorate our tree. They love us using some of their very old ornaments mixed in with our children's ornaments.

My favorite tradition is celebrating St. Lucia Day on December 13th.

I love baking Christmas cookies with my mom - we've done it every year, and it's so nice to spend time time together and make some sweet treats for others. :)

My daughter and I have attended a full-scale production of 'The Nutcracker' for 27 years! We take the train to Chicago, go out for lunch, look at all the beautiful store windows and enjoy "the fastest two hours of the year" when the ballet begins.

My favorite holiday tradition is visiting our local 2 mile long display of Christmas Lights on the Lake with our four year old son. You drive through our park on the road that is generally used for biking/running/rollerblading that runs along side the lake. All throughout the display are various themes of lights and decorations - all animated and very colorful. You tune in your radio to a specific radio station that plays holiday music as you drive through. Our son absolutely loves it and I love it because its a chance to slow down completely, take in the view and enjoy our little family during the hustle and bustle of the holiday season.

One of my favorites is reading a Christmas story every night before bed.

Ooh, we have several favorite traditions, but probably my most favorite is getting together with my family (parents, siblings, etc.) and opening presents on Christmas Eve. As children, we got to open on present each night beginning 12/21, my mother's birthday. (That present was THE BEST for at least 24 hours until the next one!) On Christmas Eve, all the presents under the tree were opened, then we were thrilled with whatever Santa brought Christmas morning. So much fun and such happy memories!

Thanksgiving traditions plus getting our tree that night and decorating it. Just a special day!

One of our favorite traditions is to create a Santa's village with the Dept. 56 houses our daughter has collected for years. Decorating is not complete until the village is all a glow. Especially fun doing it together.

I think we may have started a NEW tradition this year. My almost 5 year old son is very interested in taking pictures and has captured photos of our Christmas decorating around the house. I just love how the pictures are from HIS perspective.

My favorite tradition is making a Happy Birthday, Jesus cake to end our Christmas dinner.
