add me to the long list of people that can relate to this!! There's nothing better than a clean and organized work space . . . or so I hear!

Absolutely! But, being I don't have a dedicated space for my memory-keeping & crafting, I don't deal with this too often because making time and space to work in general is more of an issue for me. I have to drag everything out, find what I want to work with, hope my inspiration & creative mood stays with me through all that and then pack it all up again and put it away when I'm finished.
You totally rock, Ali :)

I totally relate! I keep saying I need a bigger desk but I think I would still end up using just a corner :)

Yup...I actually have to move stuff on to chairs to be able to work. I think that I am going to "clean as I go" but then I think...Mmmmm...I might need that again.
I could sen you a picture of my work station...it looks just like yours.

Ha! This is me, to a "T"! I start off with a clean table and by the time I drag out all my supplies to create, there's not much room left.

Oh I know what you mean, Ali. The bigger the desk/table, the more stuff we put on it, the less space to work on. I made a shelf/hutch out of glass top for my table so that everything is off the surface so I have space to scrap. I have also trained myself to resist leaving stuff on the table. I only leave essential tools on the shelf. Everything else has to go back where they belong at the end of the day even though it means I have to get them back on the table tomorrow. I need a little exercise walking around the room anyway.

It's called "Flow" you just go with it as you create, & next thing you know, everything is flowing over the edge of the table!! (yep, happens with my computer desk, scrap table, studio painting table, & easel with my rolling table next to it!)

Please!! At one point, I had 3 (or maybe 4) tables crammed into one little room. Did I ever have efficient space to work? NOPE!! Now, I've downsized to 2 tables...still don't have room, but at least I have 2 less messy tables to look at. I always have good intentions to clean as I go (or after each project), but it never seems to work that way. Sigh. At least I know I'm not alone :)

Ditto.. happen to me too. Guess because it become comfortable one place to stay as work on pages or etc.

There are about 5 inches of visible desk space beneath several piles of paper that represent the many different projects I'm currently pushing forward.
I once read an article that putting things away all the time reduces our ability to see connections and patterns in the different things we're working on... which I wholeheartedly agree with.

Yes, I can relate. I have a 3x6 foot table and I usually work in about a 15x15 inch spot. Just enough to really "see" what I'm doing with my 12x12 layout. I love seeing pictures like the one you posted today. I take pictures of my messy work area from time to time. Something about them makes me want to make something.

HA! I had to laugh out loud when I read this!! As I was watching the pic upload I was thinking, "see, she keeps her desk neat" I always work myself into this little tiny 'nook' on my table- not even close to a little corner!
SO yes, I can more than relate! Thanks for sharing ;)

I had a tiny room at our old house with a tiny desk and I THOUGHT it was my lack of space that my room and table ended up looking that way but now that I am in our new house with a much bigger room and a custom table big enough for two to work I still find that my table and work space is cluttered, messy and I have a tiny little spot to work from. So I totally understand, and after reading all the comments am so glad to feel a part of a community who scraps this way (and not feel alone or the only one).
