Sponsor Giveaway | Mary Ann Moss
GIVEAWAY | Three people will receive spots in Mary Ann Moss's online class Remains Of The Day.
Remains Of The Day is the antidote for all of those paper scraps that keep multiplying in your favorite scrap box and clogging up your artistic super highway. In this process AND project oriented class we’ll be constructing a shabby but sturdy journal (like this one) using all of that paper you’ve been hoarding. Ordinary life never looked better than seen through the pages of this stitched up journal of scraps.

My sister would love this class! I'm not sure I have a favorite spring cleaning tip - unless it's let the boys do it . . . ?

My favorite is to go through everything and if I haven't used it or worn it in the past year it goes. Good clothes to a charity helping women get started in new jobs; old but still serviceable clothes to Good Will; and yes I clean out my scrapping supplies and distribute them to nieces and other students who love this hobby but can't necessarily afford the expense of it right now.

What a great giveaway!!! My spring cleaning tip, is to always start with the horizontal surfaces - floors, tables, kitchen counters etc. It makes such a difference when these are all decluttered and clean.

I've always wanted to take this class! Cleaning comes at sporadic times for me, but one big thing I love to do with every change of the season is to change something up. Freshen the room up. It might be switching out pillows, centerpieces, tablecloths, bedding, you name it! Making a small change makes me feel so much better. And, it never hurts to add some fresh spring flowers! That will cover up any dust you have lurking :)

I donate stuff to the after school program at the school where I teach. Art teachers will love stuff that you no longer use.

Every spring I clean out my closet getting rid of the winter stuff that I know I won't use next winter. Makes it easier come late fall/winter to know exactly what I need to get. Also the first warm enough day I open all the windows and air out the house getting rid of all the stale winter air.

I always have a donation box on the go. If I find something that I don't want anymore (old books, decorations...), I just put it in the box. When it`s full, it can be dropped at the Salvation Army or other charity.
Everyones closets also has a plastic bag so they can drop clothes that are too small. That means less clothes on the floor!!
I also like to open up all my windows, but it will have to wait since we are having a blizzard!!!

I skip the "Spring Cleaning" and do it in the fall (usually November) instead... this way my house is clean and in order for the holidays. Plus it's much cooler in Phoenix that time of year.
The class looks fun :)

I label 3 bins and piles ---good will, garbage and to keep. I feel good about giving away items to charity and then less stressed about the other garbage.

Start by organizing! I find that I eventually want everything around me to be super organized, and I have to clean it all out in the process!

To declutter find 5 things each day for a week and give them to charity. Do this every couple of months and you will soon be free of extra stuff

I love Mary Ann--her classes are wonderful and she is so talented and fun. There's no need to include me in the giveaway as I am already a long time ROD'er but I just wanted to say that this class is AWESOME!

It's too overwhelming to do all at one time. I begin in one room and work my way through.

My spring cleaning tip is one spot (not one room) at a time - it could be a part of a closet, a drawer, etc. And that spot should be worked on in short increments. If that bothers you, then pick a spot in each room or several spots in a room, and rotate through them in short increments. Picking spots and short increments is the key to not feeling overwhelmed.

Be ruthless when it comes to getting rid of stuff...donate it if it's in good shape. If it's not, toss it!!
