For Mother's Day I love to give my mom something i've created. I can remember doing this for as far back as I can recall. Coupons for me to clean my room or wash the car... I love that i get to put my passions together and make my mom happy at the same time!

I love receiving and giving thoughtful gifts - something meaningful to the person receiving, maybe something that ties in with a memory from childhood or something special the person likes - for my mom that usually means frogs!

My mom's birthday is the week before Mother's day, so we've always kept it simple. Each year I buy her flowers and in the card, I've started making a list...thanking her for all of the little things that she does throughout the year.

Unfortunately, my mother passed away unexpectedly two years ago on April 26th. I miss her greatly and wish I could buy her flowers to plant in her garden like I did for many years.

I love to get something the kids picked out. One year it was some very fuzzy pjs, another year it was a secrets behind Harry Potter book (they know I love Harry), another year it was a video of them saying why they love me (that's still my favorite). It's the thought that goes with the gift that means so much.
