The "Long" Weekend Lens
Tags:Things I know to be true:
The swing at Grandma & Grandpa's is the best.
Oh yes.
The kids love swinging and I'm actually pretty sure my parents really love pushing them too. The mutual joy there is a favorite thing.
Simon loves, loves, loves being at the beach. And if there are smores available there, well, all the better.
These two. Well, there's lots of "he won't let me be the line-leader" and "she's touching me" and "he/she isn't sharing" but when it's good, it's really good.
The word thankful doesn't even begin to describe how I feel about my parents.
My sweet dog Lily is pretty close to 12 and when she gets to the beach she thinks she's 2.
A blizzard taste-test is a really fun thing to do on a Sunday afternoon. The winner seemed to be a tie between the strawberry cheesecake and the banana split (my personal favorite).
I have super fun friends and family who get the photo-taking, crab-eating, long-walking, margarita-drinking, and adore my kids.
That the adventures my Dad has taken my kids on will be remembered their whole lives.
I love, love, love the beach too.
Photos above were taken by me, my Mom, and Katie (which makes it fun as we all get different angles).

It looks like you all had a wonder-ful time. We spent the weekend on the other coast, along a tidal river in Maine. Beautiful, warm, sunny, cool, foggy Mmmmaine.

I love this post!
My children are five years apart (Evan ten today) and Erin getting ready to turn five. And I love the moments they are so sweet together, but then there are those other moments. And I cherish those, too :)

Gorgeous pictures, Ali. Wonderful weekend to remember. I can see it in all the faces. Beautiful !!! I would love to visit Oregon someday. It's my brother's family favorite place to go ... Believe me,they ALWAYS talk about Oregon !!!
ALi, I have a question for you : what size your pictures are ? I have a Nikon 5000 and the size I pic is 3M. Is that ok? Are they too big ? I pick that size because I download them in an external hard drive, so I don't have problems with how much memory left I have. I am from Argentina, I hope you can understand my english...
Thanks !!!

Ali, are these photos of the Oregon cost? I love the beach myself and have been traveling to different beaches to get some of the best scenery. Just recently went to Bodega Bay and got some awesome photos!

Awesome pictures ... what a wonderful time. Love the pictures of Anna & your mom & the three of you. As many have already said, Simon is getting so tall! His smile says it all ... it couldn't get much bigger.

Was this from this weekend? Where were the pictures taken that you need coats and blankets? Cuz I'm moving there! It's 80 degrees here in MA with about 120% humidity. It's gross!!

What great pictures these are -- so glad that your sweet Lily got to enjoy herself with you all again on the coast. The picture of your mom and Anna...I think they share the same smile with you. Your mom helped me with a cross-stitch project one time and I've never forgotten her kindness -- please tell her thank you again for me. Thanks for sharing the pictures -- it looked like everyone had fun!

I love the way you are keeping joy in your life, and your pictures prove it We are striving for this too after an unexpected terminal cancer diagnosis for my husband, a "healthy" 77 year old on vacation in Phoenix to see spring training baseball games, when he needed emergency care and tests. We have had such peace about it and are thankful that chemo can prolong his life up to 11 months. We had already bought tickets for a family cruise from Montreal to Boston and I hope we can capture the happiness you have in our pictures, as the eleven of us celebrate our 55th anniversary the last week of June. We will have to take him in a wheel chair, because he can't stand for long, or walk very far, but we hear there is an up-side even in that--wheelchair cruisers get to go to the front of the line! My word for the year is "gratitude" and what a help it has been to my attitude. Thank you again for doing "One Little Word". Verona

Seeing these photos made my eyes a little moist, for some reason. It's so nice to have a nice, fun family who love your kids, isn't it?
I also laughed when I saw someone packed nice glasses (the glass you were holding) for a beach trip lol!

Those are glasses from my parents house - it's right there on the beach :).
