Thanks for sharing that link Ali! It was really great to read!! I don't have kids yet but I always feel like I get those stares for always being on my phone. But I run my side business (I work full-time as well) almost purely on my iPhone. Without it I wouldn't be able to make any extra money while my partner is unemployed. I love the idea of looking at it from the other side versus just judging someone.

As a woman who is single and doesn't have any children, my reaction to the original FB post was one of agreement. Thank you for sharing this post also as it serves as a reminder to "assume the best and react with grace" to everyone around me; not just moms on iPhones. If we all stop assuming the worst in others, this world would undoubtedly be a better place.

While I was visiting a dear friend last weekend, she and I were talking about this very article and just how true it is. While I think that all people - men and women, parents and non - could benefit from less time using technology, I was so glad to see the author address the many ways in which technology makes our lives fuller and richer, especially when it comes to maintaining relationships with those we don't live near.

And as others have commented above, I think this article is amazing for no other reason than this - it reminds us not to judge one another.

Thank you for sharing this again, Ali. It's so good to see that we all struggle with the same forces yet we are all striving to be our very best no matter what that might mean. When I start feeling guilty that I'm not doing enough for my children, I often think about the little beings they have become, the good (most of the time :o)) and delightful children that they are...I am reminded that I must be doing something right as I navigate this path of motherhood. Yes, I have been one to judge which I am working on and yet acknowledge that I am only human and it will happen. We are all doing our best and sometimes we aren't, which is ok too. Personally, I think we need to cut ourselves and others some slack. Enjoy the journey and all the many imperfections it holds. In the end...our children will survive if we happen to spend time on the iPhone.

I discovered this a week or so ago, and although I'm not a Mum, I think it's a sweet post! I think we can all be a bit judgemental at times, and this is a nice reminder that you don't know what someone else is going through at any point, so you shouldn't judge them for it! Thank you for sharing!
