Weekend update.
Tags:Happy Moday! Recovering from a fun weekend in Portland. Drove up Saturday afternoon for an "appearance" at Art House - had the chance to chat with a bunch of cool people. Two of my favorites were Trina and Teresa - they were so excited to be there and look through my samples. They reminded me again how much joy I get not only in creating, but in sharing my work with others (thanks ladies). Art House is one of my favorite places to visit - they are happy to have me just come up and hang out and chat with customers. Love that low key nature. The cookies were awesome too.
After Art House I met up with my cousin Heather and my friend Melanie. We headed to a wine bar that Heather found called Noble Rot. Gotta love that name. A little place with a great selection of wines (Heather and I shared a bottle of Pinot Noir, Melanie had something sparkling) and very cool food options. I had a spinach, shrimp, and lemon risotto; Heather had rabbit; and Melanie had her own concoction of slow roasted pork and penne noodles. Good conversation. Great atmosphere. Totally nice time.
Since we are getting old (ha ha ha) we called it a night after dinner and made our way over to Heather's new house to chat awhile longer. Heather has put a ton of work into her first home - it is darling. And I had a totally comfortable bed to sleep in - thanks Heather!
Three Hours in Nordstrom
On Sunday Morning Chris called and said he was going to head up to Portland with Simon to look at suits. A job change for Chris pretty much requires the purchase of a new suit - his old one has a couple moth holes in the sleeve of the jacket. He had looked a bit already in Eugene and had researched online what the trends are right now...and what is always traditional and classy. He knew what he wanted.
We met at Nordstrom around 11:30am. Always love seeing those boys. They walked into the store and I was just so happy to see them. Simon was especially excited after sitting in the car for the couple hour drive up to Portland. Chris went right over to the suit section and started looking around. Simon and I ran around the escalator bay a couple times and then rode up and down three times. He is now a PRO at riding escalators. He kept saying "again." The high costs of entertaining a three-year-old.
Next we headed back into the changing rooms where Chris had picked out a very handsome navy blue suit and was trying it on...saying yes...and then having the tailors fit him. A very kind woman in the mirrored area (who was buying her son a suit) passed Simon over a cool toy that her kids had played with when they were little - a wooden board with about 20 different buttons glued on, labeled with numbers. SCORE. That was a great distraction for at least a half-hour. The next couple hours - yes HOURS - were spent chasing Simon around the men's suit section, helping give opinions on shirts, ties and shoes. After two and a half hours Chris had picked everything out...shelled out a bunch of cash...and we were on our way to lunch. All in all not too bad of an experience - Simon did great - Chris did great - and man he looked so hot!
Made it home in time for 60 Minutes and our usual Sunday night popcorn dinner.
Good weekend. Looking forward to a productive week.

Sounds like a great weekend. You've got to love some girl time followed by some family time, how perfect can it get.
You must tell more about your Popcorn dinner! My youngest gets up EVERY Saturday morning before me and comes into my room and asks if he can have popcorn for breakfeast, of course I say yes, that's what Saturdays are for.
