And Saturday becomes Sunday...

Simon at work. On Monday we will finally have our meeting with the Regional Autism evaluator, Simon's benefit coordinator and one of his speech therapists to talk about what supports he will receive - and their recommendations for additional services. A long time coming. I am so thankful that over this waiting period we have seen marked improvements in his language development. He is using verbal communication so much more over the past few months than ever before. I am still getting comments from teacher's at his school that they "just don't think he is autistic, rather simply delayed."
Well, whatever it is, let's get on with it and get him the help he needs - including social help in his classroom.
He has been cracking us up today more than ever. Chris even started choking once tonight after Simon had a spontaneous "awesome" response after Chris and I had said something was "cool." It is tough to get much better than that around here. Hilarious. Hard to imagine we could get so hyped up over things like this...but, this is it.
Been working all day on a CK project. Flying to Salt Lake Monday night for meetings on Tuesday and then home late Tuesday night. Before I leave I have BUNCHES of layouts to get done. And when I come back there will be even more to do. It is power scrapping time. Or as I have lovingly called it in the past: psycho scrapping. When it gets to this point I have to just run on auto-.jpglot. Stopping to think much can be disasterous. Back to work.

Ali,
I was thinking this weekend about how Simon's "delay", if you will, can certainly be considered a blessing.
I believe it has allowed both you and Chris to slow down enough to appreciate even the smallest of accomplishments in Simon's life.
"Awesome", for example!
And I think that is simply marvelous!
Have a safe trip!
