I am thinking about it...
Tags:Stare. It is the way to educate your eye, and more. Stare, pry, listen eavesdrop. Die knowing something. You are not here long. [ Walker Evans - in a draft text to accompany the hidden camera subway photographs ]
I am thinking about it...
• the raw & real nature of that Walker Evans quote : to die knowing something
• voluntary simplicity while reading The Circle of Simplicity (thanks Donna)
• how much Simon is loving school and his recent language explosion and how he has to have a certain Matchbox car with him when he takes a bath
• how expensive certain testing can be if not coded correctly and how CRAZY insurance companies can be and how much time is wasted waiting on hold
• that my car needs to be vacuumed
• that I need to get back to work

First off, Walker Evans is great! Secondly, I recently decided that after realizing that our car looked like we lived in it that I would vacuum it. Yesterday the student teacher at my sons school told me I had the cleanest Mommy car she had ever seen, and that I must be super organized. Ha! I tricked her. Clean cars are heavenly.

On hold, I love my speaker phone for that type of situation. It can be such a huge waste of time - with a speaker phone you can keep you hands moving. : )

How wonderful Simon's language is exploding -- nothing short of a miracle to hear a word begin said for the first time.
My son is amazing us with his words (or is it us being amazed we understand what he is saying) -- sometimes we wonder where he's learning them!

Does your insurance carrier have a website? Can you do correspondence with them there?
I need to vacuum my car too! I am totally dreading it--but considering a full detail. Remember when mom used to get the Suburban detailed and it would come back looking *like new*.
Hope you are enjoying your work today!
Which matchbox car is Simon loving? My all time favorite was the white Ford Taurus station wagon with retractable back hatch door--amazing!

I just this week have discovered your site & am finding your words & thoughts very inspiring & yes...soothing. This has been a week of turmoil & saddness for my family & I have come here the past two days to simply relax & reflect. Thanks for your reflections on the beauty of the simple stuff of everyday life.

Just wanted you to know this quote has stayed with me for three days and boy am I noticing how much I miss.
My favorite observation of the weekend...there's a sign at the dog park that is for the dogs. "Attention dogs! Grrr, woof, brrk! Keep you owners on a leash and under control. Don't forget to clean up after them.
Thanks for the inspiration!
