She drove up from Tacoma, browsed around while I taught, and then came to dinner with us at a very cool Southwestern spot.
We don't get to see each other too often. We keep in touch through email and the occasional phone call. Jess and I are just about 4 years apart in age. I was out of the house before she started high school. She has been through a lot in her 25 years. Highs and lows. Right now she is working on making decisions for herself. Looking inward. Figuring out what is best for her and the direction she wants to take her life. I admire her for her growth. For challenging herself. For just being her. Love that we are sisters - and that we are staying connected.
When we were growing up my Mom printed out this quote and hung it up around the house. It made quite an impression on me:

Too funny that you should post this particular quote--one that is so near and dear to my heart. God actually brought me to this particular one in at a very critical point of my life, and it helped save my life, in a sense. Glad you shared it with others! It's so true, life is mostly how you react to things.
