Out and about.

Coming to you live from Salt Lake City. Here for a meeting tomorrow.

I love Salt Lake - love flying in here. If I could I would uproot us and move here. Got off the plane and it was a lovely, sunny 82 degrees! Waiting for Denise to get in before heading off for a late dinner. Looking forward to walking around a bit tonight - maybe over to Temple Square after dinner. I have been here probably a dozen times now and have not had the chance to go over there and really investigate.

Have a good week. Having email issues here so I will try to get back to you when I return home.

Temple Square has to be one of my favorite places. I used to live two blocks up from it in the Brigham Apartments during my college days...Nothing like sitting bundled up on my back deck in the evening during winter and seeing the millions of lights decorated for Christmas. I have always been amazed at the quiet tranquilty that is there, even though it's in the middle of a busy city. I love it.
    Have fun.

I really like living in Utah, but hubby and I were just talking about how nice it might be to live in Oregon. Not going to happen anytime soon, but just one of those places that we both think is so beautiful.
Temple Square is so beautiful! I wonder if the tulips are still in bloom- might be a little late- but maybe- the gardners there do such a perfect job and the beauty of the grounds is AMAZING! I hope you have a great time.
Are you in town for a class or PRIMEDIA mag thing? That would rock if you taught a class at All My Memories in Draper...hint hint- LOL. :O)
Have a nice time in Utah.

hi! I just stumbled across your blog for the first time! Have a great time in sunny Salt Lake! It's funny, I was just telling dear hubby about 20 minutes ago how happy I will be to move away, even though there are things about Utah we love. I guess change is good, wherever you are, but home is good too.

    Ali-
This actually has more to do with your posts from before. I just want to commend you for doing what needs to be done to help your little guy maximize his potential. My mom was a special ed teacher and it broke my heart that some of these kids had been taught that they couldn't learn-- so far from the truth. Anyway, good for you and hopefully God will use you to inspire others.

Have you been to temple square before? it is awesome and really beautiful, especially in the spring/summer. ENJOY!!
Funny someone else posted this as well but my husband is trying to get me to move to Portland, Oregon. He is Irish and prefers cloudy weather. I must know, why did you say you would like to move to SLC if you could? Just curious.

Oh Ali, if you were here on a weekday you would have to go Martines. It is a block south of Temple Square and they have the yummiest salads. I also think it is Tracy White's favorite restaurant.

I've attended several conventions in Salt Lake and I love it. I always make time to go for a walk through temple square. It's so beautiful and peaceful....especially when you're busy with the crazy schedule of a convention.
    Enjoy...
P.S. I find it interesting how many commenters live is Salt Lake or have lived in Salt Lake!!

Hi Ali - I've been reading your blog for a while now, and since I'm here in Utah, thought I'd comment on your visit! Enjoy Temple Square - it is indeed beautiful year round, but especially in the springtime.
Enjoy your stay in The Beehive State!

hope you really get a chance to enjoy the beauty of Temple Square - the flower beds are gorgeous and I just love the feeling of peace I get when I have visited there. I hope while you are there you get a chance to see the murals in the visitor center and explore the tabernacle. I marvel at the history of the Temple - it took over 40 yrs of hardwork and sacrifice.
you should also go and see it during christmas time. the lights on Temple Square are a sight to behold.
Enjoy your time in Salt Lake.
