I am a special education teacher and work with children who have "high functioning" Autism, Asperger's Syndrome, and PDD. Here are some great resources.
Books:
Asperger's Syndrome: A Guide for Parents and Professionals - Written by Tony Attwood, a clinical psychologist who specialises in Asperger's Syndrome
Autism & PDD: Social Skills Lessons
There are a couple of different books with different levels. I have used the primary ones (school and behavior). The stories are much like the Wash Your Hands book you made for your son. These books are by a company called Lingui Systems.
Conferences:
Autism & Asperger's Syndrome in Atlanta, GA on September 9, 2005. Featuring best-selling author Dr. Temple Grandin, perhaps the world's most famous person with autism, along with Barbara Jacobs from England and a young adult panel. I have heard WONDERFUL things about this conference. If my school won't pay for me to go than I will pay for it myself!

Hey, they put cards like this on our pillows for turndown at the resort we stayed at in California! I loved them! I saved them for scrappin! I loved it!

Those are pretty neat - love stuff like that. :)
I have a deck that is supposed to explain dreams. I little out there, but I liked the drawings on the cards. LOL
