Home today. Gone tomorrow.

Just like that - in and out. It's all good. Heading to the sunshine state - hurricane central - AHHHH. Hoping I can be in and out of Florida before anything else comes their way. I am such a fair weather girl. Sun, rain, snow - that works for me. A bit of a breeze here and there. But once you get into these places with floods, tornados, hurricanes...not too sure.

And it never fails that I start to feel super creative right when it is time to leave again. I came home with some cool stuff - all piled up on the dining room table - just begging to be played with - calling my name.

And someone else has been calling my name: Simon. The dude is talking like there is no tomorrow lately. Cracking Chris and I up regularly. One of his favorite things that he learned is Mommy Ali and Daddy Chris. Doesn't bother us about the first names - heck, with him, any words and recognition are awesome. The reports from school and his speech therapists are that he is now engaging them in coversation (rather than the other way around) which is a huge leap from the past.

And he is just so damn cute. And tan. He has Chris' handsome olive coloring. Someone asked recently what Chris' ethnicity is - he has a European heritage, nothing that would really indicate where the beautiful dark skin came from. His Dad has the same complexion but a completely different build.

Lots to do today before I leave TOO EARLY tomorrow morning - long day of flying across the country. Making a few last minute adjustments to my color class. Doing laundry. Running to the post office. Dreaming about scrapbooking. Getting pumped up to be around people that love scrapbooking as much as me - that is really one of my favorite things about traveling. So amazing.

So peace out again my friends. If you emailed me recently, thanks, and I am a bit behind so look for something in the next week or so.

Oh yea, I get to hang with Donna. Watch out Orlando.

I've never commented here before, but I've been reading for awhile. (found your blog through 2peas or another scrapper's blog can't remember) I finally felt like I should say thanks to you for sharing your life with us. It is inspiring to catch a glimpse of your enthusiasm and creativity. I feel ready to go play and create whenever I read your blog. I am inspired by what you have been able to create with your life, with your art, all before the age of 30. At only 22, your words give me hope of what life holds for me in the years to come. Thank you for sharing with us. It is a pleasure to get to know you in this format.
Also, I couldn't help but notice in your pictures, especially from CHA, the cute cardigans you have. Being a lover of cardigans myself I have to ask- do you have a favorite place to look for cardigans? Personally, I love J.Crew and I just wondered if you might have a new place to check out.

I don't post often, but I have to post on this one. That is awesome news about Simon's speech. How exciting!!! It is SO much fun to hear them talk and be able to have conversations with them, especially when you have to wait for it. My own Simon was slightly delayed in speech and people used to say I would be sorry when he starts talking up a storm. I have to say I have a different perspective on that. I have never wished it to be a different way when he talks and talks - I LOVE being able to talk with him and definitely appreciate where he is with his speech!!
I also have to comment about the Mommy Ali and Daddy Chris. Too cute. My son went also with through a stage where he always called my husband by his first name. He just picked it up somewhere - who knows where (although if you think about it, they probably hear our first names more than we realize). We, too, were fine with that and figured it would eventually evolve back to daddy, which it did - all at once. I can still hear him say "Dawel" for Darrell.

YAY For Simon!! Isn't it funny when kids figure out their parents are more than just Mom and Dad? E likes to call us Tim & Rachel just to see how we respond. Cracks me up every time.
    and have a good trip!
