Reasons.
Tags:I am one of those people who believes that things happen for a reason. I also believe that things that seem not so great at the time are indeed meant for good...you just may not know about it at the time.
I think I needed to come here. Needed the break. Needed to be refreshed.
There are these funny yellow diamond-shaped signs along the road right near where we are staying that say "Speed Hump." For many reasons they make us laugh like nothing else. On the mainland they would be known as "speed bumps" - for some reason here they are humps rather than bumps on Kauai. I was thinking about them this morning when we walked past on our way to get coffee. How Hawaii is really respresentative of a "speed bump" in life. Being here forces you to slow down. You can't be in a hurry. You have to just relax and chill and enjoy the beauty.
This trip has been different than any other visit. For one thing, everyday was sunny. This is my fourth trip here and every other time has been about 1/2 rain and 1/2 sun. Another main difference: being here with friends. On this trip I have done all new things. Kayaked up the river. Boogie-boarded. Been more active. Such a different experience overall. Traveling with friends has been awesome.
Tonight we are having a goodnight dinner. Looking forward to getting dressed up, blow-drying my hair for the first time in a week.
Heading towards home tomorrow. Coming back with a bunch of photos and some wonderful memories. Refreshed and revitalized and ready to get back to work and a bunch more traveling in the coming month.

That is a beautiful sunset! We got a few incredible sunsets ourselves as we were waiting for Hurricane Rita in Houston. Take a look:

COuld you bring one of the SPEED HUMP signs home with you for me? LOL! I could SERIOUSLY use one here in my HOUSE right in front of my FACE to remind myself to slow down!

I did one ayout after our last trip to Hawaii. I said that when your in Hawaii you can almost feel your pulse slow down. Its a physical as well as a mental feeling. It restores my soul.
