Home for a few...

Checking in briefly from our "old" house while waiting for internet access at the new place. Chris is still moving stuff from here to there. Looking around my studio here...man I have a lot of stuff. And I have a lot of stuff to do before I leave for a two week trip to Cape Cod, CT for CKU-A, and the Netherlands this Friday.
Had a lovely time in Portland at Art House. It is pretty much my "home" store. They recently moved things around within the store and it was so cool to find lots of goodies here and there - bought a few things again of course.
Met lots of wonderful women in my workshops. I love that people take a risk in coming - a risk to do an album about themselves in the Perspectives class. For most of them it is the first time they have done an album about the person they are right now. It is totally cool to share the experience with each and every one of them.
I dropped Simon off at school this morning on my way to the house. He is really loving his new school. They use the picture schedule system : the first thing he does when he goes into the class is choose what he wants to do off the schedule. Then he walks right over and sits down to play for the first part of the day. Amazingly awesome to see him be so comfortable. I was able to give him a kiss when I left and he was A-Ok. Love that.
Aside from the crazy busy schedule, all is good.

. . . . you forgot to mention how proud you were of us that are patterned paper challenged - who 'went with the flow' and 'stayed organic'. :) LOL. Thanks for an amazing day of discovery and challenge Ali. Blessings to you and your family.

Where exactly is the Art House. I live in Portland, but I've never been to the Art House. Glad the move is working out well!

I second the Orlando idea!!
At my first job teaching elementary music, I taught all of the special needs students. I'll never forget the slow process of being welcomed into the world of one of my autistic students. Over a long period of time he would sneak quick eye contact here and there until he could comfortably look into my eyes. Didn't take too long after that for him to be plopping himself into my lap for song time. I treasure that memory.

Hangin' here at the Portland airport on my way home. The Perspectives class on Sunday rocked, and so did the rest of my visit! Thanks again! :)

I was registered for the Sunday class at Art House months ago but came down with the flu last weekend so I missed it, aaargh! Glad it went well though! :) And I'm very glad to see people take more risks in scrapping about themselves ... so many women do it "for the kids" which is great, but they have their own stories too!
