I am looking for...
Tags:a loved, but now lonely, Mr. Potato Head.
Edited: Got one...thank you!
Simon came home today and told us - yep, he mentioned it spontaneously - about the red hat, blue eyes (?), etc. of a Mr. Potato Head at school. If the kid can talk about it, he can have it.
I know how it goes with toys. Loved for a bit and then they tend to sit in the back of the closet or the bottom of the toy basket. If you have a lonely little potato could you email me. I am sure I can find something around here to trade.

I just so happen to have one very loved, yet lonely potato head. I think it's a unisex potato (Mr./Mrs.) He was first loved by my oldest daughter (now 24) and then survived my now 16 year old daughter. I can't believe we still have all his parts. I couldn't bear just tossing him, but would gladly pass him on. Just let me know where to send the little guy.

Not sure if you're a Star Wars fan but have you seen the Star Wars version of Mr. Potato Head? His name is Darth Tater and he's got the Vader mask! I saw it the other day while in Target and had a good laugh!
Best,

Yeah! I wanted to get Simon a Mr. Potato head at Costco last week, but the one there has sooo many parts, I knew what that would be like. You would need another basket to keep all the pieces in. I remember how you kids loved playing with the one we had when you were young. Simon is so good with his small motor skills, it will be fun for him. Love, Mom

Ali! I have the perfect Potato head, and body, and a family of little ones too!
Bought this cute guy @ Sam's two years ago. OK, let me try to explain. Big Mr. P is see thru rootbeer shade container, with his little red hat! But on the inside is MORE spuds with lots of EYEballs, lips, ya know....his gear! Like a family of potato heads in a big 12" Mr. P! OK, if I have not totally confused you, it would be a true treat to properly give this fella once over, bath, and of course a little bubble wrap for his bum, and send him off to your lil man! Holly

Ali,
I discovered your blog through another scrapper's blog and...anyway, it is wayyyy cool! I got caught up in your life and I went to read some of your archives. I discovered that you have a child with autism. My son (almost 4 Michael) was diagnosed last Tuesday. We have been kinda numb since then. We suspected it, but listening to someone tell you is super hard. Anyway, to make a long story short, I am writing to thank you for sharing your personal feelings, the process you guys have gone through and wealth of information you included on your blog on Autism. You have been sooooo helpful to me... I can't begin to let you know how much. I already loved your talent, but now I respect you for your honesty and unselfishness as well. Thank you so much! Ali, that's AWESOME that Simon was talking about Mr. Potato Head! Both our therapists (speech and sensory integration) used that toy in my son's sessions last year... and my guy LOVED it. You can do so much with it... colours, descriptive terms, naming body parts and their functions. Funny thing, we don't actually have one in our home. Maybe we'll ask Santa for one this year. ;)

:) Anna came home from preschool talking about MR. Potato head, too. It is true -- the best toys never go out of style! I still remember mine as a child. He was missing quite a few pieces as I remember...
happy wednesday!

Glad you found a Mr. Potato Head. I know he'll love him. We've gone through several here . . .and youngest spotted the Mrs. version and put her on her birthday list. When I ran a preschool, we used a paper Mr. Potato head in one of the classes to see where the kids put all the body parts.

I bought the Darth Tator and my little 2 year old (then) now 3 year old cousin, loves it! You can get it online for sure. I bought it at a Shopko here in Wisconsin but I'm not sure if they have those out in Oregon, maybe at a Target? The Darth Tator has a little light saber, helmet and cap. Wicked cool!
