Anticipation.
Tags:Here's a little sneak peek at my album for CKU-A. First one is coming up in March in the lovely city of Chicago. Totally had fun choosing new products. The awesome album comes from Scrapworks.
Simon took off today for some exciting times with Grandma and Grandpa. I leave tomorrow for CHA...Vegas here I come. Can't wait to hook up with me LOVELY roommate, Miss Donna. We like each other. We have fun together. Planning on taking my computer and camera so I can do some updating here with cool products and such.
I can tell you that I have received the new Chatterbox, some new Art Warehouse, and the awesome new Basic Grey (no ribbons yet, but the papers and rub ons are delightful. And I can't wait to go to the 7gypsies booth...always a favorite. They have all their new stuff on their site right now.
In just a bit here I am heading to my hair lady. You never know how I will come back LOL. I like to keep it interesting. Maybe it is time for a change...and maybe not. I have been going to the same lady for almost 10 years now I think...she rocks. Anyone in town looking for a new hairdresser...Shelley at Colours Hair Studio. Love her.
It also never fails that I feel a big creative urge right before an event like this...I can feel my fingertips tingling with anticipation of wanting to be in motion. Creating something. The show will make me crazy with ideas and inspiration. And just seeing all kinds of people from all over the world in one place totally gets me going.
And the new banner up top was inspired by the Studio Friday prompt yesterday - get those fingers dirty people!

The AWITL album looks even more incredible than the first one (which, I must say, I really loved creating!) It would probably be wrong of me to go to CKU-A again this year and make another one, huh?
Thanks for continuing to inspire me, Ali! Have a great time at CHA (and share the scoop with us when you get back!)

Scientific brain linked to autism
Scientists tend to be analytical
Highly analytical couples, such as scientists, may be more likely to produce children with autism, an expert has argued.
Professor Simon Baron-Cohen, of the University of Cambridge, said the phenomenon may help explain the recent rise in diagnoses.
He believes the genes which make some analytical may also impair their social and communication skills.
A weakness in these areas is the key characteristic of autism.
It is thought that around one child in every 100 has a form of autism - the vast majority of those affected are boys.
The number of diagnoses seems to be on the increase, but some argue this is simply because of a greater awareness of the condition.
In a paper published in the journal Archives of Disease of Childhood, Professor Baron-Cohen labels people such as scientists, mathematicians and engineers as 'systemizers'.
They are skilled at analysing systems - whether it be a vehicle, or a maths equation - to figure out how they work.
But they also tend to be less interested in the social side of life, and can exhibit behaviour such as an obsession with detail - classic traits associated with autism.
Body of evidence
Professor Baron-Cohen argues that systemizers are often attracted to each other - and thus more likely to pass 'autism' genes to their offspring.
He cited a survey of 1,000 members of the National Autistic Society which found fathers and grandfathers of children with autistic spectrum conditions are twice as likely to work in a systemizing profession.
In addition, students in the natural sciences have a higher number of relatives with autism than do students in the humanities, and mathematicians have a higher rate of autistic spectrum conditions compared with the general population.
Other research has found both mothers and fathers of children with autism score highly on a questionnaire measuring autistic traits.
Brain scan studies have also shown that mothers of autistic children often show patterns of brain activity more associated with men.
Professor Baron-Cohen said the rise in autism may be linked to the fact that it has become easier for systemizers to meet each other, with the advent of international conferences, greater job opportunities and more women working in these fields.
Richard Mills, of the National Autistic Society, said: "The society welcomes all new research, particularly that which helps us understand the nature and possible causes of autism and which may inform the support that we give to individuals.
"Over half a million people in the UK have a form of autism, it is a lifelong developmental disorder which requires specialist support."

I've been visiting your blog because I find you to be an inspiring scrap artist, but today I found the ten things a child with autism would like you to know. I work as a speech therapist in the school system. I work with so many children with autism. It is so sad and frustrating to hear how many people say it's not because he's autistic it's because he is a brat. How much they don't understand! I'm going to copy that and maybe post it in the lounge or pass out in mailboxes. Just wanted to say thank you for inspiring me not only through scrapbooking but as a well-informed parent as well!

Hey Ali! Simon and I got to spend some quality time together on Monday while Grandma and Grandpa went to the doctor. It was awesome! I love your little boy - my nephew! He is incessantly happy and so much fun to be with. We had apples and peanut butter for dinner on Sunday too - two days of Simon - Auntie Liz's dream come true! Love to you.
