Cool.
Tags:Here's a little sneak peek at my March 2006 Studio A column in Creating Keepsakes - this month it is all about my Scrapbook On The Road concept. And one of the coolest things: my Mom did a Scrapbook On The Road on their hunting trip last fall that became an online extension of the article! You can see her Scrapbook On The Roadhere. Seriously so cool. Go Mom.
The Scrapbook On The Road featured is from my trip to the Netherlands last fall. I am heading that way again on the 19th - totally looking forward to another adventure. Planning to keep another little book - it is cool becuase so much of it is journaling impressions, keeping track of the cool little things that happen along the way, and then I add in my photos when I get home. I think this time I will keep some pages blank (mixing them in from the beginning) so that when I add in my photos they are intermixed with the journaling and the ephemera - rather than all at the end like I did with the first Scrapbook On The Road.
So excited to be heading over to Europe again. Teaching a bunch of classes at Pien's, hanging out with Regina (the totally cool store owner), Nita, Florence, and so many other people that I connected with on my last trip. I am also bringing over a new project for the classes that I am really excited about - can you believe it includes embossing? And cool stamps from Hero Arts, pattern papers from lots of my favorite companies, and tags, and ribbon and lots of other yummy stuff.
I love mini-books. I am all over them these days.
Today I am working on some of my CK projects. Doing some handwriting for my next book (coming out in the summer: A Designer's Eye for Scrapbooking with Patterned Paper). Working on my column for June. Finishing up packing for the classes this weekend in Virgina. Working on another special project.
And I am going to take some photos of Chris today - photos that he can use on his political pieces. We have never really done a little shoot like this together - looking forward to it. Love him.
Back to work!

Just one more reason to be frustrated with the mailman. I wonder which will get here first - you for class this weekend or the March CK? I'm guessing that you will.
Can't wait to meet you on Saturday!

Way to go, Ali's Mom! I loved the online feature. I'll definitely do this for my next trip! I hope you'll share your Netherlands book when you get back, Ali! How fun that you get to go again. :) Love that you're keeping the Designer's Eye title for the next book. Can't wait to see what you've come up with for the cover. :D

Hi Ali. Sorry this isnt relating to your most recent post but I wasnt sure if you keep up to date with the comments (as a busy mum and scrapper probably not)
My name is Emilie and I am a aussie scrapper.
I just found out from a back issue to CK that Simon has been diagnosed with autism. I teach children who have autism, and have a first cousin and nephew with autism. I just want to say how much I appreciate your promotion of autism awareness. You are blessed to have a little boy who will open doors to a whole new world for you. I wish you and your family well.

Ali! Thanks for the Holland info. I'm heading over there in April and was looking for some stuff to see while I'm there (there's apparently a big ribbon store in Amsterdam or something...) I'll see if I can get to Rotterdam to check it out!

I can't wait to get the March CK now... how awesome is this concept! And your mom is so adorable, and her album is great! I got to meet your mom (and you) at CKU-A and I thought that you were both so sweet. I thought it was so great that you enjoyed each other's company so much.
I can't wait to try this out for myself :)

Ali-
I'm from Eastern Oregon and just noticed your mom went right through my town and ate at one of our restaurants. Fun to see that in her cute book. Go Oregon!
