Gotta say one more time...
how much fun it was being in Chicago. Seeing buddies. Making new friends.
The schedule is crazy at these events and I came home totally worn out, but so thankful that I get to be a part of something so cool.
To the women in my track, thank you. Thank you for being open to the manifesto, for saying "it is ok" right back to me, for your attention, your hardwork, your calm and collected nature. It was my pleasure to be there with you for this adventure. Thank you for the wonderful gifts and the totally thoughtful words within the cards.
Yesterday I was bombarded with allergies big time. It was horrible - probably the worst I have ever had it - went through a couple of boxes of kleenex and when I finally took some over the counter allergy stuff it did nothing. Finally when I went to bed I took some night-time stuff that knocked me out and let me sleep. It rained last night as well so I am hoping for a break today.
Tomorrow I am heading to Iowa to visit Reminisce. Got to meet a bunch of the ladies last weekend in Chicago - a seriously fun bunch. Mostly ready to go - just getting the last minute things together.
I am working on some more posts about autism. My plan is to go about it somewhat methodically, beginning at the beginning and so forth. Coming soon.
Ali, We lived in Eugene while my husband was going to U of O. I remember the allergies being so intense. I was just sick for 2 months straight. A box of Kleenex a day. I remember seeing people walking around the streets with those painting masks on to prevent breathing in the pollen. I was too young and vain to resort to that but I was so desperate I should have. Miserable!! Hope you feel better. I know what it's like. Highest pollen count in the nation I hear. Take care. -Alisa

Have fun in Iowa City! You'll love it. I live in Altoona, Iowa (a couple of hours west) and unfortunately had prior committments or otherwise I would sooo be there for your appearance. Actually we met at CKU-Minneapolis...besides taking your class, we also had a lenghty chat about the Mall of America and I recommended a couple of cool shops to you.

2 words for you...allery immunotherapy (shots). It is the only thing that has helped me...such a pain, I know, but worth it. That's my 2 cents!

I will see you this weekend, and I am pumped. A warning: bring some kleenex. Our pollen count in I.C. today is rated HIGH on the weather channel! And it will be nice and sunny and pollen-y all weekend.
See you soon, have a safe flight!

Hi Ali,
I am sure with all the people that you meet, my name will not ring a bell with you. We met when you were in Orlando with CKU back in July.
You and Donna came to visit our store (Memory Lane). Anyhow, I just want to say THANK-YOU for the time you take to share your knowledge about autism. My nephew has autism. As his aunt that is not around him much, it is helpful to get useful info on a personal level. He is an AWESOME child that really amazes me with what he has learned to do everytime I see him. Again, thanks for sharing your story. It means alot to me personally!

Ali, loved CKU and your album track!I was one of the crazy Reminisce girls scrapping at the empty CKU store table! I hope to stop by and see you at Reminisce this Friday. I have my children this weekend so no classes for me(insert sad face here!) My 14 year old son (with Autism) has a school dance Friday night that I am taking him to and then I think we will stop by and say hi! Everyone is so excited about your visit! I hope you enjoy your stay. Andria, Matt, Cindy, and all the girls at Reminisce ROCK! Thanks for being such a great spokesperson and for helping to spread the news about Autism. Hope to see you Friday! Shelley Haganman
