Wow, you inspire me constantly. I have read everything from you and I admire how you deal with your son. I have told so many people here in New Zealand about the info you supply on his condition and it inspires me to be a better mum. Oh by the way, your work is awesome. Thank you for the inspiration.

Ali- I love the picture of Simon. I could relate to your story about the post office. I have had similar experiences with my son.
I loved the tender theme and it made me think of things that make me feel tender.

Love the passage, so true. I liked the word "tender" that you used & your tender post...yesterday when I found out my super-strong-will-be-around-till-she-is-a-hundrend Grandma was diagnosed with lung cancer (from asbestos). She is 85 and most likely won't see her next birthday. and I felt/feel tender. But after losing before I knew that it was okay...that's what makes us human. Thanks again for including the passage. Ali, I am just catching up on your blog from this week and wow, Thursday was the ringer wasn't it? As a parent, I can feel for you and Simon. It is never easy to know you have things you must do and it means not making someone's life great at that moment. But isn't it the hug and "love you" that puts it all in perspective? You are a great mom and that little dude is just an awesome guy. Love, love, love the picture of him. And, I am glad to hear the day got so much brighter afterwards.
Thanks for sharing this insight of this book. I just ordered it after reading the passage and looking it up on line. I really look forward to reading it through.
