When I was driving into work this morning (in Portland), I heard on the radio and saw simultaneously on the Cornell on-ramp a group of people trying to get the word out on a little girl that needs a bone marrow transplant desperately. There will be free testing for donors this weekend in Portland at a local elementary school (no needles, just a mouth swab). Also, they said her insurance does not cover the entire cost of the transplant, so there is an account set up to contribute at Wells Fargo bank for (tax deductible) contributions. Here is the website with more information if you are interested in sharing with all your followers/readers. I know you inspire so many, that a mention from you could up the odds of finding a match DRAMATICALLY. The bone marrow transplant records bank is national (maybe even international!), so no matter where people live they could volunteer to be tested and help save the life of this little girl, or someone else!
