Moments.
Tags:I had a moment tonight.
I am here in Salt Lake City, getting ready for CK meetings this week. Tonight I took a little break and headed over to the mall. While waiting for the shuttle to come pick me up and take me back to the hotel I had a moment. Sitting outside, looking towards the awesome mountains I realized it has been way too long since I just sat and was not in a hurry to get on to the next thing.
My to-do list is still as long as it was before I walked into the mall. My mental list of things I want to change, adjustments to our home-life I want to make, healthier choices I want to make - it was all still there. But in that moment I was peaceful - if for just a couple minutes while waiting for the shuttle.
And to be honest, I was relieved. I had missed that little feeling of peace, that bit of breathing room. I think I was worried since I had not felt it in awhile that maybe, just maybe it was gone for good. I have been crazy BUSY. The kind where it feels like everything is getting half-done and nothing is being done well.
I needed that moment. Maybe sometimes it is just having patience that things are always in a cycle and that it will come back full circle again and you just have to ride it out.
So today, I am thankful for quiet, peaceful moments outside the mall.

At 58 yrs old, if there is one thing that I have learned, it's to cherish those moments of peace. Life goes by quickly. It can change drasticily at any given moment and you will never be the same again. I know.
I am starting an album I'm going to call "Life Outside My Window". It's about the "ordinary" things that happen in my own yard. I had not taken the time to witness the life and struggles that happen under my own nose. It's awesome. A world existing and connected to my own. A great learning experience.

Ali- I totally had one of those moments last night too.
It's been raining really hard on the east coast for the last week but last night there was a break. It was still overcast, but warm and breezy. My Gentleman Companion decided to fire up the grill and I sat at our picnic table during a cloudy sunset looking at our house and our two boys and for that moment I just had a deep inner SIGH. I had nowhere else I wanted or felt I needed to be and could just relax doing this normal everyday thing.
It was awesome.

so profound, miss Ali E.
and symbolic
you had a peaceful moment
outside of the mall
a mall is so hustle and bustle
it is nice to just leave the
hustle and bustle
and just have a moment
to yourself,
something peaceful
something that doesn't put any
demands on you.
not even the demands we put on
ourselves.
so happy you had this all
to yourself : )

Thanks for putting into words exactly what I am feeling. Looking for a little peace right now. Life, it seems, is always a rush. A rush to get here or there, a rush to get it done, a rush to make every moment count. Thank heavens for those little moments when you can actually breath. I love that you found one. Have a peaceful day!
