AEzine/Life Artist Newsletter
Tags:
One of the things I have been working on around here is setting up a newsletter. This will be different from the Cafe Press newsletter - it will be more focused on inspiration, ideas, class information (both online and in person classes) and other general updates. Feel free to sign up by inputting your email into the box there on the right. If you met me in NZ/Australia and already got an email regarding this you are signed up and ready to go. I am planning to start off monthly - the first one coming in September or October - and then see how it goes.
And in the past I had some requests for info on how to store quotes. My quote book is featured in my column (Studio A) in the Septmeber issue of Creating Keepsakes. Here are a couple other images:
The idea was to create something simple that I could add too as I encounter more quotes. I created four general categories that most of my quotes tend to fit into: life art, everyday, courage, and peace. I set up a file in Freehand(Word or Photoshop could totally work for this as well) for my quotes - each time I have a new one I open the file, copy the quote, print a test page, and then attach the sarabinder paper right onto the test print and run it through the printer again. The back side of the quote is either covered with patterned paper or another quote. I am excited to get it back from CK to add more quotes I have been collecting. And here is the supply list: Binder & Interior Dividers: Sara Binders (Hot Off the Press); Ribbon: American Crafts, Strano; Butterfly Stamp: Sandi Miller; Rub Ons (on cover) & Font: Autumn Leaves; Circle Accent & Orange Rub On & File Tab: Narratives; Embossing Ink: Versamark; Cardstock: Bazzill; Rub Ons (interior) & Circle Accents: Narratives; Large Stamp: Junkitz; Patterned Paper: Chatterbox, Narratives; Pen: American Crafts; Corner Rounder: EK Success; Ink: ColorBox Chalk; Additional Circle Accents: 7gypsies

I absolutely love your quote book. I have been gathering them for years now and still really don't have a good "one" place to put them all. The idea of dividing them by general topics is great too.
Thank you for years of inspiration!

I read all about your quote book in the CK article...I love it! Everytime I get my magazine I go straight to Studio A! I'm hoping to create something like this myself. I was wondering...when you say "sarahbinder paper," do you mean the sarhabinder lined paper? What exactly do you use for the paper you run thru the printer? Thanks for for being so willing to share all your secrets for this beautiful quote book!

Another Ali inspiration! Love the quote book...I have a *tag book* of quotes for my kids that I'm always adding to..
Love the *fish thing*...have you considered teaching Simon signs for stuff? Bet he'd love it. Mr. Rogers had fish that my kids loved and one day he did the sign for "splendid fish". My kids still do that to this day :) (*Splendid* is both hands palms out about shoulder height, "push quickly" 1 time...then *fish* is one flat open hand, thumb towards the sky, fingertips out, and wiggle back and forth going forward)
Have a great day!
