Reflection & Life Art Alert.
Tags:Just finished up two days of whirlwind teaching in Sydney. Eight classes over two days with half-hour breaks in between - amazing craziness is what I call it. It was awesome. The students were awesome - excited and open and willing to take risks to try some new stuff and do some things that were outside of their comfort zone (which is what learning is all about). This is one of the gifts I receive through teaching - those little glimmers of something beginning to burn inside of someone else - those sparks - those words or images or whatever that may possibly take someone in a whole new direction in their art or even in their life.
I know I will have more to say tomorrow as I get ready to head back to Oregon. In the mean time, I want to leave you with a bit of inspiration I saw tonight - a Life Art Alert: Kristina's Why I Scrapbook

Thanks so much for your amazing classes Ali! You are totally inspiring :) I also wanted to say a HUGE thank you for telling me over and over that "IT IS OK" and to "embrace imperfection" because as an OCD sufferer... it makes all the difference! OOH! and what was that song that you played during your family photo montage??? I LOVED IT!

Hey Ali,
So glad to see that you are home safe and sound with your family. How awesome was the weekend I just loved everything about your classes I really thought long and hard on my way home about your not making it more complicated then it needs to be and "Capture life, create art" I spent the day Sunday just taking photo's on my family's everyday things and am so happy with my shots - so thanks you so much for your inspiration, your laugh and for sharing your awsome work.
