Wellington.
Tags:Just waking up for the third day of teaching classes here in Wellington. Classes have been going really well - nice and relaxed just the way I like it :). I leave the craziness to Donna. Need to take my camera down with me today - keep forgetting it in the room.
I have met so many cool women. So many who are excited and passionate about telling their stories and capturing their lives and then making stuff. Just really cool.
And of course, I am learning tons along the way.
Last night I was chatting with Nic Howard and Faye Stewart about continents. I wanted to know what continent New Zealand is considered to be a part of? I am all about hitting each of the continents in the world - it has totally become one of my life goals. Nic and Faye said that NZ is part of Australasia - this westerner had never heard that term before. Looked it up on Wikipedia and learned that it is also called Oceania. Here is what it says: Australasia is a term variably used to describe a region of Oceania – namely Australia, New Zealand, and neighbouring islands in the Pacific Ocean.
If you want to learn more about the 7 continents go here. It was interesting to me that different places in the world have different definitions for the number of continents.
So far I have been to the following: North America, Europe, Asia, and Australasia. Still need to get to: Antarctica, South America, and Africa. Any scrapbookers in Antarctica?
My traveling companions headed home last night. It was seriously such a cool experience to be able to hang out with Jessica and Jeffrey for a week. Awesome. Love you guys and hope you made it home safe and sound. And I loved that photo above with each of our computers out on the table - LOL - such crazy computer people we are (and MAC people too). Thanks for being such good drivers.

Oh my goodness, Ali!
Small world... I did not realize that Jeffrey was THAT Jeffrey until you posted the link today! I have interviewed him at least once for "Selling Power" magazine, which I am sure he will recognize the name of. TOO funny. Now you can tell him that you were interviewed by me, too, and compare notes!
I'm sure I'll be speaking with him in the future for another piece -- I'll make sure to mention you!

You could only scrapbook in Antactica if you took your stash with you - not sure there's any local shops ;)

Love that you have been able to check in whilst you have been away.
Not many more sleeps now till you scrap with the Aussie Chicks.

Hi Ali,
Don't forget to buy a world map over there!! I'm from Europe and asked one to my Australian and American colleagues last year.
It's really interesting: Europe puts itself in the middle, America puts America in the middle and on the world map bought in Australia, you'll see that continent in the middle.
Really fascinating too you know.
love reading your blog btw!!

Hey Ali,
I am really enjoying reading your blog and Donna's and Cathy's...you sound like you are having a great time despite being ill. It made me go out and buy my brother in London a whole bunch of Tim Tams and Cherry Ripes and I have them all boxed and ready to go for tomorrow.

My old roomie made it to all 50 states by the time she was 30...Now she is going for all 7 continents by the time she is 40! She has 4/7 so far. For the Antarctica portion of her trek I know she is cruising there the New Years before her 40th birthday...Maybe a CK cruise to the south pole would be in order??? Just some food for thought!

I've been so blessed that I have made it to 5/7 and I'm 23. I'm missing South American and Antartica. Never did make it to New Zealand though (had to get back for a family emergency) and I was thining of getting my masters there but I just don't feel like going back to school now. I guess I'll settle for your beautiful pictures for now.

OK, Ali, so you got the spelling of my first name right FAYE but I guess I should have spelt my surname. It is G R E G O R Y not stewart. :-) and BTW, my family were tricking me, the Warriors won 26-0 not the other way around. Was great to meet up with you Ali, you know you are my fave. Have a great time in Oz and a safe journey home. See you in 4 years time.
