A big thank you...
Tags:A big thank you to all the students and to the organizers of CKU-Japan. This has been an absolutely amazing experience. I want to echo what I said at the closing last night - I am once again reminded about the awesome universiality of scrapbooking. No matter where we live, our cultural backgrounds/religion/etc., we all care about capturing the lives of our families and creating art. I love that. It is so very, very cool.
Today Paolo, Ikuko, Tracy and I are headed out to shop and play around before flying home tomorrow. There is a store here called Tokyo Hands that has one entire floor designated for stationary/office supplies - we were in there for half an hour last night and it was totally not enough time. We may be in there for hours today. So many cool designs, different clips and papers and little books. Heaven. It is heaven.
This has been a fantastic experience. Having Paolo here and Ikuko as our translator and friend has been wonderful beyond expression. We are kinda like the three amigos - a crazy three who have spent the last week laughing and totally enjoying each others company. Good, good times.
On another note, be on the lookout for a newsletter later on this week after I have returned home from Tokyo.

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Tokyu Hands!!! Amazing store. I got a cute stamp there, but wanted to buy just about everything else they had. I second the other person that commented about Kiddy Land. If you have time, you must go. I know that there is one in Harajuku, but I'm sure there are others around.
Have a safe trip home!

I LOVE Tokyo Hands I was looking for a Japanese Screw Punch - the staff was looking all over the store for me (how embarassing!). I hope you had a chance to go to Itoya too.

I LOVE that store - spent hours at several of them when we were in Japan. Sent my son there for goodies after we got home. Hope you didn't miss the cool bento boxes for lunches at home!
