Pride.
Tags:One of the big things on my mind as I get ready to head home is the election next week - I can't believe it is only a week away. I want to share with you guys one of the ways that I got to help Chris - I designed a mail piece that people in our district received today. A piece that celebrates Chris and expresses my pride in him:
So today I would love to read about who you are proud of in your life? Your spouse, partner, parent, child, yourself? This makes a great topic for a scrapbook page or a mini-book - I would love to see your creation if you have a chance to get creative over the next couple of days.
Here's a close-up on the layout:
Peace to you and yours -

Ali, You mailer touched my heart because you can feel how much heart and soul went into it. I began reading your blog because of scrapbooking but find myself drawn back frequently because of the person you are. Your love for your family shines through the work that you do. I enjoy reading about Simon, as my best friend's son Charlie, who is like a nephew to me, has PDD. He has just begun high school on his own and I am so proud of him! My wish for Simon is the same as my wish for Charlie - that they continually exceed everyone's expectations of what they are capable of!!! Best of luck to your family next week. We're all anxiously awaiting your LO of the celebration! ;o) Susan

Ali...love the layout and the fact that you asked me what I am proud of because this last week I have a lot to be proud of. I am proud of my spouse that he is such a hardworking man not only in his professional life but in our personal family life. I am proud of my son and daughter who recently completed their kindergarten screening and came out way above average for their age groups and I am proud of me that I am a scrapbooker and I am recording all these great memories for my kids so they can feel proud of themselves too. THANKS ALI!!!
Good luck to Chris..prayers and hugs on their way.

I am such a nerd and totally just cried looking at the mailer.
As for what I'm proud of-- my 3 y/o nephew Jack, who hasn't been verbal since he was about 17 months old, "talked" to me on the phone. Granted I didn't understand what he said, and it was just a stream of words, but I'm so proud of him for fighting to communicate and so proud of his parents for doing everything they can to help their son.

We are in the midst of a very nasty US senate race, and a not exactly friendly fight for the MN governor's seat as well. Seeing all the good that motivates most people into political life (and maybe even the folks here who are running disingneous, mean spirited, and fear mongering ads) and other big kinds of service work gives me such a sense of reassurance and gratitude. Really wonderful. And what a cool way to be able to share in your husband's work!
I actually got really motivated by the "help earl decide" project you shared earlier this fall. And have had a link to it on my blog ever since - this is what I love about democracy and about this country.
I'm in such a good freaking mood now after thinking about all this stuff. Thanks for sharing the flier.

Ali--
Love the campaign piece. So perfect for the three of you. Wanted to share what I am proud of today--my daughter, Karli. She is the diabetic who you designed the "Dream Big" shirt for. This picture was taken yesterday of her.

She met Michael J. Fox and he told her he had heard about her!!! What a difference she is making to all those with diseases.
I am one proud Mom!!!

What a "personal" approach to inroducing a candidate to the public. It is so Human!! If I lived in oregon, Chris would have my vote! Best of luck to him! And congratulations to you, Ali, for designing such a wonderful mailer. -Diane

Ali-
What a fantastic job. Chris is very blessed to have you as a wife.
It is funny that you should ask what we are proud of. Right before my husband, Jimmy deployed (4th time in 4 years of marriage!!) I made him this layout. It perfectly sums up how I feel about him.

What a great piece! Word will spread and every campaign will want their own staff scrapper to design mail pieces. LOL It makes it feel like it's coming from a human not some corporation-more personal, less generic. You're so creative!
