Moving in...
Tags:Today is moving day! Here's a couple peeks at the new place before the boxes get here.
Edited:for those of you who were wondering, we moved because we had been renting and the time was finally right for us to own our own home again. We found a great house just a few miles from the place we had been renting.

And the reason I totally love this house...in my studio (and in Simon's bedroom) are these great, giant old-school built-in closets:
I am going to be able to get so much stuff in there.
And this is where I am sitting right now:
Planning to get a Christmas tree tonight. Simon is doing awesome. Totally gets the new house concept and wants all his toys moved to the new house asap.
For all the pain that moving is, it sure is fun to get into a new place. Love setting up everything in new places (and getting rid of stuff we are not using anymore). My friend Jill (who brought me more beer last night) is planning another garage sale for the beginning of March so I have been loading her up with lots of goodies both scrapbooking and otherwise. I will give you more details as that date gets closer.
Did I tell you that I am loving the carpet here - it is super cozy. We are all about cozy.

Congrats on the move, the pictures are great, we were there 6 years ago, moved in December 23rd 2000. Our tree went up mighty quick.... all the best and Merry Christmas to all of you...

Ownership is a wonderful thing. When I bought my first home, I ran from room to room and flushed all 3 of myyyyy toilets. Congratulations.

Ali, Chris, and Simon,
Congratulations are your new home. It is lovely. I also love the berber carpet Ali. It is so kid tough and stays in super great shape even with high traffic and wear. I love the old closets and the fireplace in the open walkaround is truly gorgeous. It is so airy and full of light.
I know it has been an active and exciting year for your family full of changes and I, along with my family would like to wish you all a wonderful Christmas in your new home filled with laughter, love, friends and family.

We just moved on Wednesday, so I totally feel your pain! Such fun to have a new house to decorate, though, AND getting the Christmas tree up made me so happy. I hope your move went smoothly!

Exactly ten years ago today, my family and I moved into our first home after renting for 12 years. Everything was in boxes but we didn't care. It was a fixer upper, the tile was in and so was the carpet. Walls were painted and its was ours. The boys are ran out and bought the last decent tree on the lot. Ran to Beverly's and bought all new ornaments (ours were still in boxes). Once the tree was up the boys begged to spend the night in our new home. The beds weren't up yet so we camped it in the family room. What a great memory. Simon will remember this new adventure for years to come. Just you wait.
