Simon Says:
Tags:After I said the prayer tonight I asked him if he wanted to say anything else. His response:
"Thank you God for golden butterfly.
Thank you for baby condors. (Both of those are from Diego.)
Thank you for cheese.
Thank you for water.
Thank you for applesauce.
Thank you for Mickey Mouse Clubhouse.
Thank you for Santa."
Santa is still really big around here. Santa is the only person he will talk to on the phone. Today he talked to Santa Leslie & Rachel at the CK offices and left a message for Santa at Grandpa Gary and Grandma Susan's house saying, "where are you Santa."
Awesome.
And I just heard a little voice coming from his bedroom singing "do re me fa so la ti do."
Seriously awesome.
And all those words you have been leaving today are totally filling me up. I can't wait to read more on Monday and see what you create.

What a great photo...I love a good close up on a child's face. Especially when it is yours. I think it is great how much you share about Simon. It helps others. Trust me.

My word for 2007 is FLY. It is an acronym for Finally Loving Yourself. It is something I have got from Flylady.net-very cool website. My first thought was Peace - through Finally Loving Myself but I didn't want to copy you...and with FLY I get Peace too. Love the spirit of your blog and work. Thanks for the inspiration.

Hey Ali- Being a speech-language pathologist who loves to scrapbook, I've so enjoyed reading about Simon's language development and just his sweet self. I work primarily with young children on the Autism Spectrum. From what you tell in your blogs, Simon has made so much progress. Kudos to you and your husband for all the work you do with him!! You are awesome parents!!!

Hi Ali! I just ran across your blog via No Appropriate Behavior. I was very interested to read through some of your archives about Simon and autism. I have a niece who I suspect is autistic and I am interested in learning more about it. I am encouraged to read about Simon's progress! I am also wheat and dairy intolerant myself, so there's another common thread! I wondered if you know of Nancy Bea's blog http://www.genrecookshop.com/
She is a mom of a severely autistic son and an awesome oil painter and blog pal of mine. You'd enjoy her site.
Blessings, Paula

Love hearing about Simon and how amazing he is!
My word for the year is "SOAR"--soar to try new things, let myself be led to where I should be and to be free to express what I want to do.

You are such an amazing woman, mother, wife, artist, human being. Your art, photos and blog are so real and sharing. My nephew is autistic and I have shared with my brother and sister-in-law all of the links you so kindly share with the world. I find encouragement and ideas for my newphew, inspiration for being an "aspiring life artist" and wonder at how you find enough hours in the day or days in the week to accomplish so much. I feel very blessed to have found your weblog. Thank you for being such a positive spirit in this world. My word is Courage because I have lived in fear all of my life. This year I am feeling so ready to find my Courage and come out of my lonely cocoon.

LOL I just had to respond and tell you that this morning when we were praying, my 3-year-old Camden thanked God for Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, too. Too precious.

Ali, my first visit to your blog, actually my first blog visit ever. God bless you and your family, Simon is a joy. My word for 2007 was very easy, it simply popped into my head when I read about the word of the year. My word is "REST". I have been on disability for almost a year after working since I was 14. I am now having a blast hanging out at my two younger children's school. My older son is 14 and I regret not having had the time to help out when he was
in elementary school.
My problem now is I am supposed to be resting, I have MS that is progressing too quickly due to stress. I need to learn how to say "NO", I just do too much. So, I am going to put he words "REST" wherever I can in my house and scrap a layout about it. If I can, I will post it on your site. Thank you for the inspiration.
God bless,
Shaun
