Way to go Mom & Dad.

This is one of my favorites from a batch of photos my Mom left here recently. Simon and my Dad walking on the beach & clam digging as the fog rolled in. My new banner photo was taken on the same day, as was this one:

I am really enjoying these far away shots - they tell an entirely different story.

Way to go Mom & Dad - thanks for always supplying me with such beautiful photos from today and yesterday.

Edited: Mom & Dad shoot with a Canon Digital Rebel XT (same camera as I am using). I believe that she is shooting on automatic. If she lets me know differently I will pass along the information.

Your mother takes beautiful photos. It's nice of her to leave photos for you. My mom isn't a great photographer, but I just got her a digital slr so she's excited about learning. Hopefully she will start getting awesome pictures for me too...

Thank you for the compliments on the photos. Ali was correct I used auto-focus on the Digital Rebel XT. The photos are unedited. The camera was a gift from our three children to their Dad on Father's Day last year. Both Al and I have really loved the camera and the digital capabilities.
The location of the photos is Clam Island, in the Coos Bay estuary, of the Oregon Coast. It is available only on low tide. We were the only ones on the island that day as Al dug Butter clams and Gaper clams. It's just what Simon loves, as he can run free and investigate on his own....with Grandma Pati following at a slow walking pace.
Simon has been going through a phase where he doesn't want to get his shoes wet. We bought him a new pair of rubber boots and he followed me as we splashed through the puddles together.
Thanks to Ali and Chris for sharing Simon with us. We are always thankful to have the opportunity to be with Simon and help him see and experience the coastal life and the great outdoors.

Oh My!! I can see where you get your talent, Ali!! Those pictures are priceless! I could only dream of having something like that. I too have the Canon Digital Rebel XT, but have yet to perfect my photography skills. Mrs. Mcdougall....those are breathtaking! I would cherish these forever. They show so much personality. Wow...I'm just speechless. Thanks for sharing!
