Thanks for offering the giveaway!!!
I have taken photos for years with my trusty 35mm but find digital photography so intimidating. I guess partly because it is so in my control. I realize for many that is the attraction, being able to manipulate your photos to bring out unseen qualities. For me who is not very computer savvy & somewhat afraid of making mistakes the digital world of photography & scrapbooking although I find the pieces beautiful is very intimidating & frightening.
How do I overcome this? What are some good basic tips for digital photography? Digital Scrapbooking?
Thanks
Laura S.
Such a beautiful quote and the photo is absolutely stunning :)
My biggest photo struggle is actually keeping my hands from shaking and getting the blurry photo's I keep getting so much... I would love to know how people have such a steady hand with their stunning photo's like yours above:)
Also trying to get the image you have in your sights to look just the same in the photo... somehow the images change and just don't seem to look right IYKWIM, but maybe that's just me :P
Just received all 3 of your books and plan on sitting and reading them tonight:)
you are just a really cool person. i love how the simplest of posts from you inspire so many people and lift them up, encouraging them to do more, create, experience, etc. you have a gift and i am glad i get to receive it so often. thank you for being real.
Hi Ali,
I am still a novice with photograpy and I struggle to keep in focus and to get close to my subject. You are helping me a bunch.
PS I just finished my, "Week In A Life" album from CKU Orlando. We moved and it stopped my album making. I just love this album thanks for the inspiration.

Thanks Ali for your time and letting us into
your creative world.
My photo struggles are trying to really capture my 3 & 8 year old boys in the moment. They are always either running, turning there heads, or making faces.

Ali,
I think my biggest struggle with photography is knowing when to snap the picture. I like to see pictures that are real, not staged. But I have a hard time capturing what I want. Is there a trick to it or am I just a novice? I want to see my babies eyes against the sky, but I am not able to capture the exact moment, maybe it just takes time and practice.
Thanks for the beautiful quote.
Love the yellow roses - my father used to give me a vase of them for my birthday every year until he passed away. I now buy myself a bunch on my birthday to keep the tradition going ~ just beautiful ...
That is a beautiful photo and quote.
My biggest photo challenge is lighting, lighting, and more lighting. I never seem to have the right light. I may have to check out this book if I don't win one.
Thank you for this post. I do love that picture of the flowers. My most difficult thing with photos is lighting...I have a hard time determining what is enough, when to use the flash, etc. Traci
My dear friend Ali - We only met once but I feel as though I know you well through your books, articles and blog and so I address you as "dear friend" because you touch, inspire, cause introspection and direct me as a dear friend would with your thought provoking words and your moving photos. You speak your heart with images and I feel understood when I look at them. I can't tell you how many times I've read your blog and then headed straight to my camera. I have photos I would never have taken because your work reminds me about today, this moment.
I can smell those roses just by looking at them
