A Cool Idea + CK Houston
Tags:Ami B had a clever idea for working with type cases that have skinny vertical spaces (similar to the one empty one I posted last Friday). She printed the "B" onto cardstock and cut it to fit into the sections. I completely love the idea of doing this sort of thing in some of those spots and playing around with the idea of "pieces of a whole."
If you end up playing along with the weekend creative project I would love to see what you create.
Made it safe + sound to Houston yesterday for Creating Keepsakes University. Looking forward to seeing old friends and making new ones as people come together to create and share their stories.
Have a great rest of the week + weekend! Be back on Monday.

I just finished reading the Oprah home decorating magazine "O at Home" Summer 2008 edition and on pg. 54/55 there is a two page spread of someones inspiration wall at home that has SEASHELLS, SNAPSHOTS, MAGAZINE CLIPPINGS-with the seashells in a type case!! Pick the mag up your next trio to the market and check it out. I thought of you as soon as I turned to that page!! Have a great weekend!

The quote is fantastic. For the past 6 months I have been intrigued by the psychological/sociological ramifications of our "hobby". It is a phenomenon and it keeps on growing-crossing races, cultures, ages, gender, religions. I came up with the same idea-we don't scrap/craft to preserve our memories-we do it to preserve ourselves, our existence here on this planet. But-I'm still stymied by the "why". Maybe the larger our world gets, the smaller the importance of the individual becomes and the greater the need to shout I was here.
I don't know-it would take a more educated mind than mine to figure this out.
Love your blog!

Ali, not inspired by your weekend creative post, but by the tray when it appeared in your book, I made this {scroll down post, sorry} for favourite foodie labels and such, for hanging in my kitchen :)

hi ali!
i finished the weekend creative project (a week late!) and i'm so excited to have such a cool piece of art hanging in my house! it's the first thing we see when returning home and the last thing we see before leaving, which i think is just great.
and if any of your readers from saint louis are reading this, i picked up my type drawer from the antique mall off tesson ferry, between 270 and 141. i can't think of it's name now, but it's big and the only one out there...
here's a link to my posting about it, with pics...

I found your blog on Google Reader and I wanted to tell you how talented you are. I always have high hopes for scrapbooking, but they always fizzle out. Your's are beautiful.
