Hello Baby Edwards...
Our lives are changing in a very big, very wonderful way early next year.
We've known for just about six weeks now and have been doing a ton of celebrating with family (I am just over 12 weeks along).
The idea of a new little person in our lives is sinking in day by day. I am experiencing a crazy mixture of excitement, all-day nausea, grumpiness + mood swings, too-small clothes (which leads to more grumpiness), and that pure amazing this is really happening joy.
I am so hoping that I am coming out of the early pregnancy/first trimester fog (at least I really, really hope so) and am focusing on living fully and in the moment and not taking a minute of this for granted (easier said than done some of these days when all I want to do is sleep all day). As you might imagine I have a big list of things I want to do before this new person joins us and I have been crossing them off the list very slowly one by one.
Simon is pretty darn excited. He came with me to my doctor's appointment yesterday and really liked hearing the heartbeat (even though he was disappointed that he didn't get to see more pictures).
We are all pretty darn excited.
Life is a tremendously amazing thing indeed.

Hi there, Ali. I am a daily (A) reader, but have ever signed on. I suppose you may never notice anyway as I slip into obscurity at commenter number 714. I mean, when people get this many comments on their blog, can they seriously read every one? I suppose I will know soon enough. Thought I would tell you that I am a pediatric physical therapist and own a clinic with many OTs and Speechies too. I admire the way you handle the situation with Simon. You are a VERY good mom to him. Some hanle challenges better than others, and you are a true champ. There is nothing more precious in life than a child. Enjoy every minute of your children the bad and the good, they grow up so fast. I remember thinking at times if they could only tell me what is wrong, if they were only walking it would be a bit easier, then BAM! They are both grown and still our most precious thing, but right now Mom and Dad are on the back burners in their life as they are enjoying their young adult life. Congratulations, your a great parent already and you get even better for number two.
