Clear Scraps Giveaway
Tags:Today's giveaway is sponsored by Clear Scraps. They recently generously donated some product for an upcoming benefit class/make + take I am doing in Southern Oregon. These are my four favorite products in their clear mini-book line-up:
6x6 Tab Album (5 pages, 3 ring)
All Mixed-Up (6 pages, 3 ring)
Scalloped Square Album (5 pages, 3 ring)
8x8 Tab Album (5 pages, 3 ring)
Here's a recent minibook I did that was featured in my Studio A column in the August issue of Creating Keepsakes magazine using the Scalloped Square Album:
Notice the square punch + corner rounder again?
For this album I used paint as an adhesive. I ran the outer edges of the squares through some paint and laid them down onto the acrylic. It definitely smears as you push it down, but that was part of the fun. I used much more paint on the transparent pieces and less on the photos (the photos are backed with other photos allowing me to adhere them to the acrylic album).
[ supplies : album: Clear Scraps; transparencies: Hambly Studios; paint and tiny alpha letter stickers: Making Memories, "the easter egg is pretty:" vintage ]
I have two sets of these four albums to giveaway. To be entered into the drawing leave a comment below and let me know what layout/project have you been putting off and why. Comments will be closed today (Thursday) at 5pm Pacific and the winners announced shortly after.

I have been putting off my wedding album. It is such an important event in my life that I want to do it "right." I guess I am afraid that if I scrap it now, it will look silly years from now when the styles have all changed and everything looks different. But it needs to be scrapped!

Hmmm. What don't I put off? I'd really like to do an album on our family trip in January to see our oldest daughter performing in Miami.

My boys school albums. I didn't start scrapbooking until my children were grown and it seems a pretty overwhelming task to collect all the stuff and start the albums. I have gotten some of the supplies together and now I need to find the pictures, report cards, artwork and papers. My brain hurts just thinking about it...

After seeing/reading about your type-drawer project that you added the square pictures etc. to and hung on the wall. . .I had to have one! : ) I knew right where it was going to hang. . . .it was a brilliant idea. . .but long story short. . .the drawer is still leaning on a wall in my hallway -without ever being touched. : ( I have no idea why I have been putting it off.

We had a wonderful San Diego vacation in '06 and I am about 1/4 done with the 12x12 album. But I have been putting it off because I did a layout that just didn't work in there and messed up the whole "flow" . . . I just redid that page (which I normally don't do, usually just let it go but this one I just couldnt') but I still can't get my flow back. sigh. Now I don't know why!!!!

Ooooh- Inever thought of using paint as an adhesive. I love it!
I have been putting off my son's baby album because I was a single mother for much of the baby years so I feel bad for the lack of photos. That part of his life brings back a lot of hard memories and I think a small piece of me is afraid to back and revisit those times. I hate that.

I have started, put away, started, put away an album about my dear father. He passed away in 1996 from cancer. The program the other night " Stand up to Cancer" even made me think about pulling the album out but then I started crying and well , the album is back in the "to do" box.....My dad was so awesome , a tribute album would be so wonderful ~ I need to just do it !

I have been putting off one big project and that is organizing my scrapbooking space in my new house. Obviously that aides me in procrastinating lots of other little projects. Hopefully I can get some work done on it this weekend.

My youngest child just started 1st grade like Simon and I planned on doing a mini book of her first year of elementary school, but am
bad at actually pulling out the supplies (some digital) and coming up with a concept.

I have been putting off scrapbooking with new products that I love, like Sassafras. I never feel worthy of the beautiful product...but that day may never come so I should really do it now!!

Putting off - scrapbooking my kids adoption stories. Reasons - perfectionistic paralysis. Simple enough, yet not really excusable and every day I procrastinate is a day I haven't told their stories.....

I've been putting off layouts of my nieces, twin girls...they are already 20 months old and I definitely have more than enough photos, but only a couple of layouts. They've grown so much; I'd really like to show that in a mini-book or album.

I have been putting off my "baby's first" album for the grandparents because I want it to be perfect. Also I am putting off scrapbooking because the cost is getting to high for me.

I've been putting of scrapping my 2 girls' baby albums - they are now 12 and 14 !!!
It's sure time I got down to it but I have far fewer photos of daughter no.2 as a baby (second child syndrome I reckon - no time, forgot and didn't have energy !!!)
Also I didn't scrapbook as a hobby, when they were born, so I didn't take cute photos of the their tiny feet and hands and ears etc to remember. I think you change what you take photos of when you start to scrapbook. Really wish I taken some of these things all those years ago.
How wonderful for you Ali, you have all these opportunities ahead of you soon, to get more fab pics. Really hope you enjoy it. It's a juggling act but worth every moment.
Thanks for the chance of the giveaway. It would make a great medium to make a start on scrapping by baby pics.
Thanks.
Anne

I've been putting off my wedding album. It's been 4+ years since I got married and I can't seem to commit to a design. I'm scared of messing it up.

I have been putting off scrappin' in general. I have so many projects that I want to do and have ideas for and projects/albums that I want to finish, but the task seems to huge. At present I don't have a good space to spread out my projects, so I use that as my excuse to not create. I recently printed 400 pictures to finish the album of my son's first year. I can't wait to dive in and revisit all of those memories though!

My boyfriend and I visited my cousins in Singapore and took lots of pictures. I want to start scrapping our vaation pictures. Hoever, with my busy work and school schedule plus we moved to our new apartment I can't find the time to scrap. I promise to myself that as soon as we're done organizing the apartment and have a light load in school and work. I will set aside a whole weekend and dedicate it to scrapping.
