Sister time. Re-arranging time.
Tags:Hello September.
This past week I was really lucky to have my sister Jessica come to visit. The best part? She is also going to have a baby in the new year so we are getting to go through this experience together. We spent a few days shopping (I hadn't started collecting anything for this baby yet so it was even more fun) at baby stores in Portland and Eugene before taking her down to my parents house on the coast.
Getting to spend time with Jessica and shopping really made me start getting even more excited about what is to come.
This baby is like starting over in so many ways. Besides being just about seven years removed from being mama to an infant, all the baby stuff we had used with Simon has been passed on or sold in a garage sale back in May (great timing I know). This means that I have a good list of things to acquire over the next few months - working hard to keep it simple and not go overboard. I think baby stuff is just about as crazy as scrapbooking stuff when it comes to options and potential to have too much.
Around here this week one of the big things we are doing (besides Simon going back to school) is starting to move rooms around. Our small house (which we love) requires a bit of adjustment - my office is moving to Chris' office (not a small task at all), his desk/computer is moving to an area off the living room, and the baby will have a room in my current office. I am actually really excited about this change. I am ready to move things around, reorganize, etc - all part of getting ready for baby.
I am dreaming about adding one or two of these to my office space for storage.
I also think I might be getting excited about taking photos again. It's been awhile since I felt in the mood to be capturing stuff. Maybe it's the change in seasons. Maybe it's back to school time. Maybe it's that I finally feel just a tad bit like my regular self and not a monster pregnant grump. I need to go to the photo shop and pick up my lens that was being repaired.
I have added a google custom search box to the left column. This search box only searches this blog, my newsletter archives, Studio A archives (hoping to update soon), and Designer Digitals. I am hoping this will act as a great resource for future reference.

Ali, glad you're feeling excited about nesting and rearranging - love the red bookcases! I looked at these too, but decided they were too big for my space. Thanks too, for the google search; I was just looking for an old post a few weeks ago, and didn't have any luck. I'll check again on the google search! =)

Love the new search function--thank you. I don't know how often I go back through your site looking for stuff from before!
I remember how miserable I was during that first trimester and how the only thing I wanted to do was lay around and watch t.v. Ugh.
Can't wait to see all the exciting rearranging!

I was wondering where you were going to put the baby since you live in a small house. What fun you will have getting it all ready and setting up a new scrap book room. That always makes you want to create new stuff in a new room...Have fun and enjoy the moment !! Please show pictures when your done, would love to see it. Have a GREAT week.

I LOVE that you and your sister are pregnant at the same time. All three of my sisters-in-law had babies within a 5 month time frame and getting to watch those munchkins grow up together has been absolutely amazing. I am just so thrilled for the excitement and joy that's coming for you and your family. There's nothing better.
Thanks for letting us share in it!

What could be more wonderful than being pregnant at the same time as your sis? Such an amazing coincidence :-)
Love the Google search bar idea a lot! I can't count the times I've gone through blog archives looking for something... this will help so much!

Oh that is soooo cool that you can go through this experience with your sister. I think I will wait to have a baby (at least 3 or 4 years). I wish I had first of all a sister, but second sharing this great experience together. What an amazing coincidence!!! Have a great Labor day!

I just used the google search last night. I couldn't remember what the white sharpie pen was, so I searched and found it right away. Thanks for adding that and it really was a great resource. Congratulations to both you and your sister. So excited for your expanding family. Cousins are the best!!!

Thanks for adding that, Ali! When you have a chance, would you also add a "next" link at the bottom of each of your pages so that we can see all of your fab archives?
Happy Labor Day!

Hi Ali. This is totally off topic here (although I think it's wonderful that you and your sister are pregnant together - what fun!), but I was wondering if you ever talked about the results of your thyroid tests. I remember you talked about it last year. Just wondering...
