I'm not sure how this is viewed, but I'm looking forward to spending my last Christmas as a family of two with just my husband. With a baby on the way (due February 09), this will be our last Christmas before we become a family of 3. I'm not sure how much I'll be able to eat this Christmas, with the baby taking up more abdominal space, but I can't wait to eat, eat, eat!

Hanging Christmas lights! I love it!
I also like doing simple crafts like putting cloves in oranges, they just smell so darn yummy!

it all starts being exciting for me when we go out to the tree farm and select our tree, then the planning starts. Where are the decorations and what shall we have for dinner on decoration night, it is one of our traditions that all the family come for tree decorating.

Our family will be embarking on a whole new adventure this holiday season. We leave for the dessert and sands to Dumont, CA. It's near Las Vegas for 10 days to ride our quads and side by sides with hundreds of other crazy people. I'm a little nervous about giving up our traditions for something new and uncharted.

I love the vintage journal kit!! I've been gathering some supplies to join you in a december daily album! I love getting together with my 6 siblings and their families...Thanksgiving or Christmas is usually the only time of the year that we can all get together!

Bottom line favorite thing--the tree. Love the smell (we always have a real tree). Love the lights too. But my favorite is the ornaments. We have ornaments my husband and I have gotten each year (yes, he gets into it),the ornaments for each of my boys years, ones my children have made, and some that were from my husband's childhood tree. For me the juxtaposition of them sums up the holiday season: a store bought, handmade, old and new mix match of things--the past and the present colliding. I LOVE IT.

There is so much I love that it's hard to pick. I think the best part though is a tradition we started last year. I made an advent calendar that has daily Bible verses leading up to Christmas. It takes only a minute or two each day to read...and yet keeps me focused in the rush of decorating, baking, crafting, shopping, not to mention working.

I love time off work to be home, warm and cozy with my husband and 2 little dogs. Time to decorate, bake and just be together sitting in the glow of the Christmas tree with all the other lights off.
