Three Things : Three Giveaways
A fun Tuesday giveaway:
1. Five gift certificates to Songbird Avenue. Here's what's cool about these guys: they are a digital scrapbooking-based online boutique
whose proceeds are donated to various charities each month in an effort
to give compassionately to those in need. Definitely a site to check out and support.
2. One November kit from Stampin With Steph (a Stampin Up independent demonstrator).
3. One November kit (designed by Stacy Julian) for Cocoa Daisy (you will receive this in early November).
To be entered into the drawing leave a comment below and let me know how you celebrate the fall season. Comments will be closed today (Tuesday) at 8pm Pacific and the winners announced shortly after.

I'm trying to be more intentional about celebrating seasons. For fall, I want to increase our giving. I'm still working out how exactly this will look for our family and for those in our community. Baking comes to mind as well as providing items that people in need may want as the season becomes cooler.

I love Fall to the point of near obsession. Totally my favorite season, and I celebrate in many ways, from drinking Starbucks' chai tea latte--which I call "Autumn in a cup"--to wandering among the fallen leaves at some awesome city parks nearby to shopping for clothes in all those gorgeous bright Fall colors to photographing just about every tree in sight.
Definitely love, love, love this season. Great question.

One of our fall traditions is to take our son to the apple orchard. This year he had a great time watching the apple train! (Apple washer).

My favorite fall tradition is the time spent honoring and remembering my relatives and friends who have passed on though the Latino celebration of Dias de los Muertos. I decorate an altar and tell stories of the those I loved dearly and now miss terribly.

Fall is my very, very favorite time of year. I love decorating my table with my faux-suede placemats for most of our meals from October to November. At this time I start making a lot of soups for dinner--I have an amazing pumpkin stew that is my favorite. We also like to buy caramel apples, but I'm going to try and make them myself this year. Caramel popcorn, too.
Last year you inspired me to buy more pumpkins than usual (and more variety as well) and I loved having them by my walkway and on my porch. I have a giant over-sized vase that I filled a variety of mini-pumpkins, too. I love the colors and shapes of pumpkins.

Fall is my favorite, favorite time! We celebrate with visits to the pumpkin patch (I don't have children) but all of my friends gladly let me tag along to be the photographer for these visits) and making brunswick stew from scratch and lots of cinnamon candles!

We take a trip up to the apple region in the area for some apple picking and apple pie. We're also getting ready to make some Halloween treats!

This is our first year living in a place where fall actually happens outside. Living in Texas we didn't really get the changing of colors and dropping temperatures. Now that we live near the Rocky Mountains we are celebrating this season by spending LOTS more time outside and observing the changes that happen little by little each day.

Fall is one my favorite times of the year! We spend lots of time at my youngest son's football games, and my middle son's soccer games. Some of our other favorite things are drinking hot cocoa, logs on the fire, jumping in the leaves, carving pumpkins.... but one of our most favorite early Fall activities is "Ghosting" our neighbors. Each October we sneak out one night and leave little goodie bags on our neighbors door, with a poem and a picture of a ghost. They hang the ghost in their window to show they have already been "ghosted" and then they visit 3 neighbors and pass along the "Ghosting". But it has to be neighbors that have not yet been "Ghosted". Such fun for the kids!
And of course, we love everything about Thanksgiving. The time with family, the reflection, and all the wonderful food! Yummy!

My favorite is walking through the pumpkin patch with the kids and picking out our pumpkin straight off the vine. We also went and had our pictures taken with the fall colors behind us. After our "serious" picture was over we all played in the leaves. THe kiddos just loved it!

The older I get the more I love fall. My favorite ways to celebrate are picking out pumpkins at the pumpkin patch, attending football games, going out for a hike to enjoy the blue skies of fall and of course my tradition of watching the "The Great Pumpkin"
